True story. If it were a white girl doing it to a couple of thugs, I can honestly say she probably would not be locked up right now. She'd be asked by every major news program in the country for an interview so they can tell her how brave she is standing up for herself and the other customers. The attackers don't deserve a penny. He was just doing his job, and they escalated the matter. The employee was in the pen for the last 10 years. He recently finished serving a sentence for a crime he committed in the heat of passion. Give him some time to adjust. He deserves jail time, but no more than 6 months.
how is the above article slanted? it is fact based and includes quotes from one the two women's family members. granted they were the provokers, but one of them was beaten nearly to death. that is not self defense. inquiring how and why a parolee who nearly beat a customer to death on Ronald McDonald's dime was hired, is completely logical at this point in the investigation. the victims overreacted to the employee doing his job by procedure, and the employee completely overreacted by pulling out a metal baton (not a golf club) and nearly taking (another) person's life.
I'm sure McDonald's takes advantage of some sort of government incentive program to hire ex-cons. They were likely aware of his crime, but they believed he was fully rehabilitated when they hired him. There's no way to test how someone's heat of passion during an interview. The guy was just unlucky. How many people do what the attackers did?

More than you'd think if the exact scenario presented itself. The only reason I am saying he deserves jail time is because the attackers were female, and because he was excessive in the end.
