Sooo...today a friend of mine decided to post that the rockets championships were tainted because MJ wasnt playing...now as much as i would like to ignore this comment, i cant help myself; i am compelled to argue my case. I know this has prob been posted plenty of times but it is the offseason and I have no search function ...so i want to present my case, i want any statistical, factual or just first hand accounts of the legendary Clutch City comebacks...although stats would be the most useful And yes i know it really doesn't matter what others think but me being the only Rockets fan in my med school i must defend the Rockets legacy. What you got for me fellow CF?
Why the hell does everyone think Jordan was gone for those two years? He missed 93'-94', but 94'-95' Jordan played. He played and got steamrolled by Shaq and the Magic. Well guess what. We steamrolled Shaq and the Magic. Rockets were the better team.
Just a few out of countless threads. http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=142301&highlight=asterisk+championship http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=205530&highlight=asterisk+championship http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=111303&highlight=asterisk+championship http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=205224&highlight=tainted+championship+jordan http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=186444&highlight=tainted+championship+jordan
If Jordan not playing tainted our first championship, then every championship won before he got into the league and after he retired is tainted.
It was so-so. The Mavs won it in a year where every championship contender in the West was declining and beating a team of "superstars" who didn't have their **** together. Most people will probably reminisce that championship more of LeBron losing than the Mavs winning.
Funny that we aren't giving credit to the Mavs even though we complain about the rockets not getting due respect...fandom at its finest I give the mavs every credit in the world for betting Lebron & Wade...even though it kills me to type it
Disagree. Heat had their **** together. Dirk put the Mavs on his back and carried them to a championship.

As I mentioned before, the knowledge of 90s basketball keeps getting worse every year. I wonder if that's the same with 90s music? <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/Kzwe4rk7W3I" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
What do you expect? The 90's was 2 decades ago. People will forget what happened in 2011 when it's 2031.
I was actually going to ask a question about this yesterday. My question was going to be, what were the Hakeem Rockets record against the Jordan Bulls. I do recall it being a winning record, i just don't remember exactly. This, along with the fact that Jordan's Bulls didn't make it to the finals in 95, should put all that to rest. They will, of course, try to argue with you about meaningless crap, but facts are facts.
