I praise Wade for telling the players to not settle less than 53% BRI

I thought Battier was going to be the leader and be the voice of the players. Ain't heard **** from him, last I heard was "anybody hiring" before the lockout. He just riding everybody's back .

 

Wade has made some stupid comments though, he doesn't understand and he is not representative of most of the players.

The mid level guys like Battier represent a lot more of the players than Wade does, they should be the ones stepping up and making the deal, not the stars.

I too praise Wade for asking role players to hang in there, when they have way more to lose than he does, so that he can avenge his cat fight with Stern.

 

Methinks tweets speak louder than going to the meetings and actually trying to solve something and not just abiding by what dwade said.

I'm in the minority i suppose but I think a 50/50 split is a fair deal. After watching Stern give his perspective on the issue compared to Billy Hunter it is clear to me which group has the advantage. The players will have to back down sooner or later. In addition the CNBC article pointing out that the players may lose 2 billion if the season is lost is a great point. What is the point of sitting out for 3% which is less than 2 billion over 7 years just to prove an idiotic point.

 

The role players, hell what about the hangers on. They desperately depend on this leagues salary and they account for a lot bigger portion than the Wade's or even Battiers of the league. The superstars and MLE guys are guaranteed comfortable lives.

Players need to cave at 50-50 and get back to playing because fighting over 3 percent is gonna really cost this league in the long run. Its not football, Basketball isn't being played and most of the country doesn't really care.

 

This is the first time I've heard any player say anything for the fans, other than the "fans watch us, not the owners!" line.

Follow the stars on the floor, but the rank and file should tell the stars to follow them in negotiations, role players should tell the stars to **** off the dont have the same oressures etc.

Probably one of the star players that postponed payment on last year's contract until around this time knowing that a lockout was probable.

Wade won't be hurting for money. It's the rank and file players that will cause the shift towards accepting an agreement.

 

Exactly and the owners know this as do the players that is why they are calling other players they normally would not even talk to, this is the first sign of cracking.
