Manny Ramirez also drives me nuts because he claims to be some music fiend but he's never heard Big Bill Broonzy, Mahmoud Ahmed, Richard Thompson's Mirror Blue, Sleater-Kinney, The Negro Problem, Arsis, Edan, Freestyle Fellowship, Joanna Newsom,Amalia Rodrigues, and on it goes. I'm sure he's heard a couple of those, but you don't need to hear every U2 album a hundred times to assess the band's work.
Not sure where I ever said I was a "music fiend" although I have heard accusations that I am a music snob. There are plenty of artists out there that I have never heard of and probably never will. I just happen to like a lot of music and I like to share with others. I have learned about more new music from this website than any other place. Music is my hobby and if you don't like my posts, then put me on ignore. I have heard of Joanna Newsom (have 2 of her albums), Richard Thompson, Big Bill Broonzy, and Sleater-Kinney but that is all out of your list. Dude - I do have (I think) all of U2's studio albums, but I have not listened to every one of them hundred times. Hell, I haven't even listened to U2 in years, to tell you the truth.
