Ugh, after huge gains and good movement into OKSt territory, this offense always goes for two negative yardage run plays which gets them into 3rd and long.
Nice try. Every sports handicapper in the book pegged that OU blowout. I made more on that game than you make in a month. Doubled it down today and then I'm probably done for the year. Vegas doesn't miss this badly often. They let that bogus #11 UT ranking fool them.
Scoreboard, brah. Anyway, on a serious note, UT played a pretty good game. OSU came up with bigger plays, particularly those two runs where they had clean holes with no defense to stop the middle. Ash needs to get more experience. He looks good at times, but he still shows plenty of hesitation instead of committing to the run or to throw. Hopefully, he develops his accuracy and confidence in the long ball. The run game is good. Defense and special teams played well. We need to work on the passing game.
Ash did not look good at all. Their best plays were when they handed off or went with the WildFozzie. There's going to be a lot of QB controversy over the next weeks, I think. Neither is very good, but it seems like Ash is the theoretically better QB, but Case seems to manage the actual games and improvise better. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.
I think Case has looked a lot better to be honest. And i hated the game plan on both sides of the ball too conservative. It was a winnable game, but they played it to be close etc, obviously they did not trust Ash at all. DD
Ash holds the ball too long, and he's too casual in the pocket. MB28 and CB23 = all-conference. Overall, this game went about as expected. Can't fault the effort, the team played hard. Harsin and Diaz have to come under fire a bit. HATED the 2 consecutive throws when we had 3rd and goal near the end of the game. Ugh I'm over this rebuilding year crap. Time to regroup for the 2nd half of the season.
I actually though the opposite. Ash was having a miserable game, and OSU couldn't stop Malcolm Brown. 3rd and goal at the 4, they should have just run the ball twice and forced OSU to stop them. Next possession, they tried 3 passes from Ash and went 3-and-out. I'd have liked to have to seen them just pound the ball with mostly Brown and mix in some WildFozzie in there. Instead, they kept letting Ash do all sorts of stuff that would kill drives.
I agree they should have run a lot more, but when they did pass they ignored the tight ends and never threw over the middle, it was like watching greg davis and the bubble screen brigade again. DD
quit lying pathetic liar! (or you could just apologize for calling me pathetic for saying the best day of my life was the day ut won the national championship, liar)
he has the stronger arm!! everyone with a stronger arm is better! i don't trust david ash as far as case mccoy can throw him. it's like we fired garrett gilbert and hired his younger brother. and yes, we should have been running more. that 3 and out with all 3 being passes that Major mentioned was awful. i will say fozzy has been friggin' incredible this year. not only does he seem to have become much faster, but he just bursts through seams and when contact is made, he rarely gets dropped easily. he just keeps churning. i'd like to see the ball in his hands as often as possible. also the outside runs by monroe (who is also incredibly quick) and plenty of rushes for malcolm brown. oh, and playing time for case mccoy, a guy who can actually pass.
also i was generally impressed by byndom. he stuck with blackmon much better than i thought he would and our pass defense in general was very respectable. if you would have told me osu would go 23/41 with 218 yards before the game i would have taken it in a heartbeat. if you would have told me they would do that with one of the weakest pass rushes i've ever seen, i would have said you were lying. 3 man rush, 4 man rush, blitzers coming from everywhere, it didn't matter. we didn't get anywhere close to weeden on virtually every play.
