http://espn.go.com/college-sports/s...east-sends-invites-five-schools-hike-exit-fee OK, ESPN changed their stance:
Great, great day for University of Houston! I am a proud alum. Can't wait to beat Connecticut, Boise St., West Virginia, and more. Go Coogs!
This is great news. I'm even more excited for the hoops program than the football program, but this will be a quantum leap for both.
Georgetown, Uconn, Notre Dame, Louisville, Cinci, Seton Hall, St. Johns, WVU... all coming to Hofheinz. That is going to be bad a$$.
Rather have UH join the Big 12 so it can play the regional schools around here, but if it's best for UH, might as well go. But man, loving those traditional basketball powerhouses coming to Houston.
Big mistake on the Big12's part on not inviting Houston. Now the Big East has planted their flag in Big12 territory. Get used to seeing the efflux of recruits heading east.
Wow, ESPN ticker says Air Force and Boise St. unlikely to join... Why the hell would they want to stay in that zombie of a conference
doubt it. Congrats to all the coogs if this goes though. I'm sure it will excite the fan base and allums. Enjoy.
UH must accept regardless of Boise. One, BE is currently a BCS conference (no brainer). Two, if BE loses AQ status or falls apart in the future, UH can always come back to the C-USA/MWC merger. Three, I would argue that it's going to be difficult to pull AQ status from a conference without causing an uproar (i.e., getting Congress' attention). Four, BE basketball could put UH back on the map of national relevance. Five, if UH is concerned about travel, it could ask the BE for a FB and BB invite and place its other teams in a regional conference.

I'd prefer the Big 12 but that doesn't seem likely at this point. A move to the Big East would still be a step up from C-USA.
The Big East - from Connecticut to Colorado, Idaho and beyond. I would rather see UH hold out for a Big 12 invite. If they do join the Big East then they will have to fly the female teams to the east and to Idaho and Colorado?
