I doubt he even it's gets traded much less to us. This isnt the NBA, it's rare that trades like this are made. Hope I'm wrong though.
I was eating dinner and watching ESPN and Clayton came on and was talking about Lloyd and the Texans came up.
LOL, indian food. Anyways, would love to have this guy. If the asking price is a 5th rounder or even a 4th round pick, I'd do it in a heartbeat.
Haha, niiiiiice. Yeah, I was hearing anywhere from a 3rd to a 5th rounder for him. Imagine the possibilities with Andre, Mason, AND Lloyd?! The main problem with Schaub being ineffective at times is because we really have only one reliable receiver in Andre, so the other team sees that and they obviously put double coverage on him. Then, when Andre goes out, we are exposed (raiders). If we had a legit 2 in Lloyd (now arguably Mason) it changes the gameplan completely. You double Andre? Ok that's fine, we'll nail Mason or Lloyd. You wanna drop back and play zone? Ok cool, we'll let Foster run it up your throat. If we had another legit talented #2 receiver in Lloyd I think our offense would flourish even more thus opening Daniels even more... If you're Rick Smith you gotta get this done.
Arizona out of the Lloyd sweepstakes. nfldraftupdate Dion Caputi #Cardinals reportedly have no interest in acquiring #Broncos WR Brandon Lloyd in a trade prior to the October 18th trade deadline.
I'm not sure he gets moved. Clayton thinks there is a 15% chance he's moved and Lombardi thinks there is a good(great?) chance he is moved. Guess we'll see.
Makes sense to move him. He's a bargain now, but if they can get a 3-4th for him it's better than him straight up walking. He's not good enough to keep as they rebuild, and he'll want a big pay increase since this would probably be his only chance for a fat contract. They have a group of young WRs in Decker Royal and Thomas that can make up the production in the long haul. Whether they like it or not, they're in the Luck sweepstakes, and if not him, there's 2-3 other QBs who could be top 10 picks. I think Elway is licking his chops at the thought of another Stanford QB under center in Denver.
That makes no sense on that play. The whole world, including himself, knew he would get laid out at the 3 yard line by the safety coming at him hard. If he would have ran, there would so many people on his case for trying to run it in because he is the most immobile quarterback in the league. He knows his limitations with his mobility, that's why he didn't run it in. That was a smart move on his part. The pass was a different story but I'm just replying to your remark on him not trying to run it in.
He was trying to run in on Tyvon freaking Branch. For those who don't know he's probably led the Raiders in tackles since Morrison left and he's known as a pretty elite SS. Not only would he close in and make that tackle at the 2-3yard line, but he'd probably put a hard enough hit that Schaub would have left that game with a lot worse than a sore shoulder.
It's kind of pointless to point out Lloyd's shortcomings because without them, he'd be untouchable. I mean, if Lloyed looked like Andre Johnson, do you think Denver would be trading him for a 4th round pick? The Texans goal should be short term. And they sorely need both a receiver and a corner. Although I personally think a non-idiot Marshall would be a better fit given our offense, we need to upgrade the position regardless. And Lloyd fits the team's ball control offense quite well.
I can't believe i'm not hearing anything about the Texans going after Lloyd -- all the Broncos want is a 5th round pick.
Even with Andre we've always lacked a TRUE number 2 guy, i mean Kevin Walters is good and all, but hes simply a serviceable guy, a perfect role for him. We need that deep threat that can be a game breaker and thats what Lloyd is.
