Personally, I prefer Fitz. Granted, I'm somewhat biased given I have been a fan ever since his college days. Still PO'd that Jason freaking White won the Heisman over Fitz when he was clearly the best player in college football.

Huh? If I was a true homer, I would say, " Hey Matt Schaub is a best QB in the league!" Even though Rodgers or Brady are. Or something of that nature. What is wrong with saying Andre is the best WR in the league?
Calvin Johnson has more TDs through 5 games right now than Andre has had as his career high for an entire season. Scoring TDs are held at a higher standard for offensive players b/c their job is to score. The primary reason Jerry Rice is considered as the greatest WR of all time is b/c nobody will sniff his TD record. Moss is arguably generally considered the 2nd best WR of all time b/c he's 2nd on the all-time TD list. Not Marvin Harrison who is #2 in receptions or Tim Brown in receiving yards. Calvin is by far the best and most feared receiver right now. It's not even close. Stop with the homerism. I haven't heard of anyone who has reasonable football knowledge make that claim. It was something ESPN put up for stupid conversation. Moss in his rookie year caught 17 TDs, something BOTH Andre and Calvin haven't even sniffed in their entire career. Moss in his prime put both of these guys to shame. Calvin, so far this year for the FIRST time in his career, is getting into that rarified air that Moss occupied for most of his career (when he did try The thing with Moss was teams FEARED him so badly that even when he didn't try hard or took plays off, they still put 2 guys on him. Calvin is just starting to generate that sense of fear in DBs around the league.
Tmac1 , that was a real talk mane... Moss made folks forget about Chris Carter his rookie year... He has made QB's look better than they are (except Brady).... Calvin is good and has great potential... But an injury can derail all that athleticism at any given time..... Andre is a testament to a WR that doesnt need to have overpowering athleticism to be great.... But fortunately, he has that kind of athleticism anyhow...
Andre's lack of touchdowns bother me. He's also not as explosive or athletic as Calvin. All that said, he has never had a QB who could really get the ball down field. Andre has beaten men in coverage countless times where's he had to stop or slow down in order to receive the ball. He's also never played in a vertical passing game. The Texans under Capers were afraid of plays longer than 15 yards. Under Kubiak's scheme they rarely send Andre vertical. It's normally slants, outs, posts, etc.
I don't understand it either. Andre is your best target in the red zone yet they don't ever look for him or run plays for him. His touchdown production or lack there of is just a product of the system almost. They use him as a decoy to take a corner and safety to open up another receiver.
Between the 20's = Andre. No one is better at running routes and getting into a zone schemes open space.. Red zone = Megatron. FREAK. that is all.
Give Andre a QB with balls and deep throw accuracy and system that isn't afraid to send him on deep routes and there's no question Johnson would probably have at least 20 more TD's in his career. The guy has the same ability to just out jump and catch it over defenders like Calvin does bailing out his QB IF his QB has the balls to take the risk.
But Andre isn't a great target in the red zone, something Calvin has made a living off of this year. So now we're blaming Schaub for Andre's lack of success? Have you seen some of Stafford's throws this year? The guy just throws it up like a hail mary into double and triple coverage and Calvin still catches it. Stafford would have had like 4-5 more INTs if not for Calvin this year. It works both ways. Great QBs make great WRs, and vice versa.
So you are assuming? Calvin does it. I doubt Stafford would keep throwing those crazy throws if he had some other WR playing. Brady used to throw into double coverage ALL the time when Moss was there. He rarely does it now. Does that make Brady "not a risk-taker?" QBs and WRs have that connection. Schaub and Andre have played together for years. It's both of their faults if they don't develop that connection.
This is correct. Jeff Garcia was a prowbowler for 3 seasons when he had TO to throw to. In 2000 he threw for 4,278 passing yards with 31 TD's and 10 INT's. That's Peyton Manning-esque.
