The form you have the first one in suggests it is ((1/x)+4)) + sqrt of 1-x.
I'm assuming it is really (1/((x+2)^2)) + sqrt of 1-x. This domain is
    D: (-infinity, -2)U(-2,1).
B/c z cannot be -2 casing a zero in the denominator and x cannot be >1 b/c sqrt of a negative number is not real.

I'm pretty sure it's not basic algebra. I want to say I saw these things in Pre-Cal. Certainly not middle school math, at least not middle school math in HISD.

At this point in my life, I can only use the "eyeball" test for these things, for I have totally forgotten any supposed tests or rule of thumb people are suppose to use. And your answer seems correct. Then again, reading math equations the internet way is horrible for mental calculations.

I was told there would be no math.
