Actually I don't know a great deal about Vietnam, or anywhere else for that matter. I did do some research for a trip there, and talked with some businessmen who do business there and run a group that helps work with Vietnamese college students, and other crap like that. but what I did mention are facts. They are documented.

If you have a gripe with facts, then talk to God or invent a time machine and change them, but you pretending they don't exist doesn't make it so.

Where does your vast knowledge of Vietnam come from? Do you have a PHD on the subject?

Let me give you a little free education. If you have a chance to visit Houston Tx, I will point you to a vibrant Vietnamese American community who are between 100-150k strong and ask them how they feel about your beloved VCs.

Just be prepare to run for your life, these people do not tolerate any dirty commie or commie sympathizer in their community. If you had done your research properly, you would not spew out the ignorant crap in your post.

I remember not too ago, they ran a VC consulate out of Bellaire(Sharptown) just because the commie wants to set up shop there (an embassy office).

So you don't really know that much about Vietnam either. After your boast I thought that you'd actually done some serious study on the matter.

I understand that refugees that were on the opposing side of the communists wouldn't like the government. I understand that the winning side in the war was cruel to those that opposed them.

However you seem to forget or are trying to deny the fact that the South Vietnamese government was corrupt, brutal, and oppressive. Those are facts. You can support whoever you feel like, but as much as you try, you can't change facts.

 

I could be totally off base here, but I do believe that generally refugees that managed to make it to the US were fairly well-off people. People with power, money, and connections. I doubt many if any of the Vietnamese population in the US as a result of the Vietnam War were poor that made up most of the population.

So the sample of Vietnamese people in Houston, TX probably do not come close to representing population as a whole in S. Vietnam back then. Of course, if there's evidence that debunk this, I'd be happy to eat my words.

The facts were that the North Vietnamese were beyond brutal. They slaughtered anyone who was a doctor, lawyer, or anything but a farmer. I know many Vietnamese who fled not because they were "South Vietnamese" but because they knew they would be slaughtered for having an educated background.

But you are right, the South Vietnamese were no angels either and did plenty of killing themselves of civilians. But gov't also changed hands quite a bit over 20 years so it's murkier.
