Yeah, I always noticed that the mode kind of relies on you doing all the work and being the star, which isn't even close to real life. Very few rookies come in to the league and be made the 1st option right away. I was on the Heat as a point guard, we lost like the 1st ten games. I led the team in scoring with like 20 PPG. I would get double teamed, and if I wasn't the one taking the shots, they were not going in. If coach took me out, they'd give up like 50 unanswered points. It was ridiculous. All the "Big 3" did was jack threes.
stupid ass trades are still the norm from what i've seen. Eh...i got bored of myplayer b/c of that and i hate playing with generic rookies.
The CPU trading is hilariously bad. Even though I got the 4th seed in the conference, I got 5 lottery picks (#1, 2, 7,9,11) and 5 more 1st rounders (17, 21,22,23,29) via trading from earlier in the season.
****. I ordered this game from Amazon and couldn't hear any commentary. Amazon sent me another one. Couldn't hear commentary on that one either. I'm sending em both back and picked one up from Gamestop tonight. NO COMMENTARY ON THAT ONE EITHER!!! This makes no sense. I had it in default, changed to broadcasting, etc. Tried all the versions. Historical games. Quick games. Etc. Nada, nothing.
i had this prob b4 too but it a happened on my 3rd day i had the game. some reason my settings keep changing on their own and when i tried playing games i had no commentary as well. play a couple of games like that but got tired of it. it might not be the game at all but your saved files. i simply just went to options in the main menu/ my nba /presentation and seen some how my audio was set to custom with everything but the music turned down. maybe you should check that if you didn't and make sure you save it.
I love playing defense with Courtney Lee on this game. Tyreke Evans tried to post up against me while I was using Lee... he did the little spin move (which worked pretty well) and tried to put up a layup but Courtney was quick enough to recover and slam the ball against the backboard. And if the shot clock is winding down and I have him while defending the ball handler... forget about it. That shot's not going in.
I've lost hope for 2k and all their future games. This is by far the worst 2k game I ever played. The gameplay can be good at times offline but it gets boring after a while playing just against the A.I. With this years game you are stuck with the offline modes which pretty much comes down to MP(which freezes a lot), regular teams and legends. The online feature is an total mess. It may very well be the worst online game on the consoles. Definitely the worst online game experience I've had. Constant lag, network errors, and dropped games all the time. Even worst... when you get dropped out of a game you end up with a lost on your record even if you're leading! You would think 2k taking out so many features online would make it more stable but it's the absolute opposite. If all you care about is the legends then try getting a download of the game or buy it used. Maybe even rent it. But don't waste $65 dollars on this crap.
Thanks. I tried that and everything is set to default. I changed to broadcast and other stuff....no luck. I also deleted all the settings and let them start again. Same issue. I'm going to take it back to Gamestop and see if it works at the store. If so then I know it's a PS3 issue like RedRedemption said, although that would be a very strange issue.
I just took it to the lane against Mcgee and he blocked me real bad one handed and kept the ball in his hand like he did last year, pretty cool
Says the guy who apparently runs the Rockets 2K Roster? I think some of you had impossible expectations for this game. From a technical standpoint, the game has improved so much, the crowd is more dynamic, the reflection on the good looks great, and the collision detection is sometimes hilariously accurate. Multiplayer may be a bit shaky right now, but remember, the game has only been out for a week. It takes time to adjust the server capacity to meet the demands, and 2K Games was never known for their online multiplayer.
All I know is, in My Player you can mimic Jeff Hornacek's OCD free throw routine for $50K. Virtual money well spent. When Hornacek mashed the palm of his hand into his face in real life, he claimed he was signaling to his wife & children that he loved and missed them. When my virtual player rubs his face in the game, he's signaling to his first wife and kids that, now that he's made the jump to the NBA, he's really happy he left them and traded up to a hot new trophy wife, and no kids. This game rules.
I don't "run" the Rockets 2k roster. I have a say in what goes in on the roster but I don't make the final decisions. A lot of the ratings you see are from me but if I "ran" the roster I wouldn't have Lowry and Dragic the way they are for sure... And yes I agree the gameplay has improved a ton but I'm in for the competition and that's usually best online. That feature is where the replayablity is for most users and for me especially. But all I have to say is the 2k online team failed big time this year.
Word, this is probably my last year with 2k if they don't get their ish together. The communication with the fans is horrible and it seems they didn't even test this year's horrible version. So many issues on gameplay, tons of bugs, freezes, only 3 generated rookies actually playin in MP mode, super flawed trade logic,.... Fed up with their dumb hyping.
One of the greatest sports games ever made... Another 2K game that I will play for the entire year...
Dunno why the My Player substitution logic is so bad. Quick game, association and Legend mode have great substitution logic. But in My Player, I was playing the rockets and their line up was- Lowry, Kevin Martin, Courtney Lee, Chase Budinger and Terrence Williams. Credit to the game, the ball was constantly fed to Roy Hibbert to take advantage of Terrence Williams guarding him.
My best 2k11 MP line-up was: T-Will, Hill, Patterson, Me (7'1 C), Hayes Can't beat that crap, it's terrible.
Anyone else notice some heavy rubber band effect in this game? It seems to become prominent once you go up or down by 10. All of my players start missing open shots and relatively easy layups while the computer suddenly goes off...I understand the game of basketball is about runs, but as a casual gamer it's frustrating when you're suddenly punished for doing well...
Couple of things: 1) Let me reiterate that the trade logic is r****ded. I was drafted by the Wizards. A month into the season Blatche, the only guy capable of scoring down low, was traded to the Mavs for Haywood and Beaubois, neither of which see significant time on the court. Haven't checked but Blatche probably isn't used by Dallas all that much either. Dumb trades have been happening all over the league. 2) As a 64 overall PG averaging 11 pts and 4 assists I just became (for God knows what reason) the starting point guard of the Wizards with John Wall coming of the bench for a few minutes every game. WTF? EDIT: Smh... we just traded Josh Howard for Kirk Hinrich! And just in time for Rashard Lewis to go down with an injury. Good news is that Wall is starting again... as a SF! How can things that were more or less fine in previous versions be so broken in this one? 3) This may be only my logitech controller but does pushing the icon-pass button when you don't have the ball on offense activate the camera (that you can move around with the right stick) for anyone else out there? This button should be for off-ball movement (and it actually works in the training camp) but instead it's almost useless. 4) Why aren't the generated rookies participating in the MP mode? Is this a bug? If not then who thought this was a good decision?! 5) It's the same thing with 2k every year. Every year you supposedly have more and more control over the gameplay but in truth, that is never the case. Canned animations, dumb or cheap AI, it's all there. Just like last year. And the one before that.
May end up selling this and buying it back when lockout ends. Hate that there are no online leagues Gonna wrap up legends mode and go sell it for 50 bucks back to best buy.
