Who should I start this week? The matchup is in parentheses QB (1): Drew Brees (@TB), Cam Newton (@ATL) RB (2): MJD (@PIT), Shonn Green (MIA), Darren Sproles (@TB), Ryan Torain (PHI), Deangelo Williams (@ATL) WR (2): Miles Austin (@NE), Mike Williams of Jacksonville (@PIT), Victor Cruz (BUF) TE (1): Jason Witten (@NE), Fred Davis (PHI) OP (1): This position can take any QB, RB, WR, TE I'm sold on starting Brees and Newton together so its really just the RB,WR,TE i'm wondering about. Any insight is appreciated, thanks.
Brees Sproles, Torain Austin, Cruz (Since when was a Mike Williams on the Jags roster? Mike Thomas is) Witten Newton
I like Torain's matchup, but this goes against the #1 rule of lineup decision making: always start your studs. Benching MJD for Torain is the type of decision that one could easily regret - on the other hand if Torain does produce, you can at least know you made a good judgment call. Personally I'd only make that decision if I was desperately swinging for the fences or was in a strong enough position that I could afford to play dice with my RB2.
If none of my trades go down I have little to choose from at receiver. Cruz vs. Bills Crabtree vs. Lions T. Smith vs. Texans Jacoby Ford is available against the Browns also. Breaston, Larry Fitzgerald, and Doug Baldwin are all on byes for me.
Must have been a brainfart, yea i meant Mike Thomas. Actually looking about I have a WR/RB spot too so its actually filling the following spots with those same players: QB (1) RB (2) WR (2) RB/WR (1) TE (1) OP (1)
I'm definitely in need of a WR. My other WR's are Holmes, Decker, D. Moore, Henderson and J. Nelson. My RB's are Stephen Jackson, D. Thomas, Tate, and C. Williams. I'm set at QB with Newton, seems to rack in a solid 20-25 points per week. Also got Jimmy Graham at TE and the Lions Defense.
I was trying to pick up Mason when I found out he was coming to Houston but by the time I found out someone had already scooped him up. I really like him even after AJ returns, he may actually become the viable #2 they've been searching for all this time. If he develops the chemistry with Schaub especially that will be a plus. I never really thought about Kerley, but who would you drop out of these guys for him? Doug Baldwin Steve Breaston Mike Tolbert Matt Cassell Torrey Smith I do think Smith will take over for Evans even when he returns. Smith had a bad game against the Jets but he was being covered by the best corner there is and Flacco overthrew him more than once that night.
Consider this: Rex Ryan said before the season started that he thought Mason was going to catch 80/90 passes. All of those targets are now going to Kerley. Torrey Smith is a one hit wonder. I'd have no problem getting rid of him for Kerley.
Rex Ryan was smoking crack to think that Sanchez could complete 80/90 passes to a 4th receiving option. Furthermore, you're getting second hand smoke of what Rex is smoking if you think Kerley is going to get 80/90 targets with Sanchez playing QB. lol.
Advice is advice. You take it or leave it. The fact remains that in 20 plays, he had 3 catches and a td. So, a pick up is warranted. If he doesn't pan out what have you given up? Torrey Smith?
I need help picking my RBs this week. Pick two: -Felix Jones -Darren Sproles -Rashard Mendenhall -Steven Jackson -Daniel Thomas Right now I have Jones/Sproles penciled in... but Thomas has been great when healthy and Mendenhall/Jackson are obviously the best, but coming off injuries so uncertainty looms. What would you do? I don't need to hit a home run versus the team I'm playing this week... I just need reliable production.
Somebody offered you this trade or is this what you are offering for Davis? I find it hard to believe the guy with Davis would seek out a trade for Gates or Olsen. So, yeah, you can offer it. If the guy accepts the deal, you win. Gates is old and he is done this year in my opinion. Olsen may have some value but not nearly as much as Davis has.
It's part of a larger deal, should've mentioned that. Saying that though, would you rather have the Davis/Gates combo or the Davis/Olsen combo. Fred Davis is also available to pick up.
Davis/Gates. Having Gates is a backup is a luxury and he will probably have a few big games so he has value. Olsen has less upside than gates, but he will be a steady performer in the 8 to 10 point a range week.
