it's my fault. i'm the constant in all this. did any of you honestly let yourself believe for one second that they were going to score yesterday? really? man, i've seen that show so many times, i know it by heart. boston suffering? chicago? PLEASE! show some respect.
there is no why. it's just the way the cookie crumbles for this city's teams. some towns get successful teams, some towns do not.
Houston has had good, entertaining teams at times. At least we have teams to watch. Remember when Houston didn't even have an NFL team, now that sucked. I've been watching Houston teams for more than 40 years, so I know how things go in cycles. I find both the Texans and Rockets fun to watch, even though they aren't great teams at this time. I do admit that the Astros are horrible and are no fun to watch, but that will change, it always does.
I blame the media here not getting in people's face after a loss. In New York or Washington Kubes would have been destroyed already but here the media is too soft on players and coaches.
I don't think Houston is the only city that feels that way , im sure San Diego feels sports cursed also. Chargers have had talented teams , but couldn't get to the Super Bowl over the last few years. BTW Texans need to advantage of this year with a horrible division , No Manning , Jags are rebuilding with Gabbert , Titans are mediocre at best.
At least the chargers have gotten have gotten into the ball, the texans keep getting rejected at the door
The Texans haven't yet been allowed in the parking lot. They're still parking in the satellite lot 10 miles away from the ball and forced to wait for the 8 person golf cart to come get them.
True Chargers have been Making the playoffs , But if you don't win a Title . In the end the season is a failure either way you look at it. If a horrible team wins 5/6 games , it seems successful season. But if a talented team chokes in the playoffs consistently , it is a different story.
unless you're in Houston!!!! we shower our Rockets with confetti when they advance out of the FIRST ROUND!! and the success of this Texans season revolves entirely around them merely making the playoffs. that's it.
Houston football: 6-0 record. No. 1 offense in the nation. No. 1 passing offense in the nation. No. 22 ranked team in the nation. And Case Keenum is one game away from breaking the all-time NCAA record for total yards.
I think it's the city. The successful sports cities - New York, Boston, Bay Area, LA. Those are destination cities with rabid fan bases and tons of money. Houston has none of those things. Just plain vanilla, polo shirts and khakis, "great organization" good ol' boys. Houston will suck at sports until its character is changed.
