Saul knows everything Walt did to Brock since he was in on it.. I mean how else does Walt know how to even get close to Brock except with Saul's help. Plus, Saul helped lift those cigarettes too. I'm sure Saul is gonna tell Jesse at some point next season.. and Jesse is somehow gonna find out Walt let Jane die too (dunno how).. and then that will be the final show: Jesse vs. Walt vs. Hank. I'm looking forward to next season too.. but I know it's going to start really slow.. maybe even slower than this season. Face Off. lol.
To me it was obvious who poisoned the boy after I saw Gus's character being interviewed explaining the parking lot scene. Also someone here pointed out that Hector (wheelchair guy) was somehow going to play a big role. Which again made sense since he got a lot of unusual airtime. All in all I was not surprised by what went down in the finale, but it was entertaining.
I suspected Walt too since that interview explaining Gus' character thought process in sniffing out the bomb under his car. But the process of this episode was great...even with you sleuths figuring out the elements beforehand, it was great to see how it all tied together. Very satisfying season ending...and I too think it would have been a great series ending.
Breaking Bad just cemented its place in history. As a very distant contender to The Wire's throne as the best drama ever. Taken in a vacuum, the episode was outstanding. The best lighting, best directing in the game today, the plot was action-filled with so many great moments; so why do I feel so disappointed now? Because when you come at the King, you best not miss The anticipation I was feeling coming up to this season finale was unlike anything I've experienced since The Wire. Literally anything could have happened; almost anyone could have died. The show had a better than real chance to surpass The Wire. Yet when you get over the shock of seeing the Pollonator's half-face, and that truly awesome closing shot (what an amazing juxtaposition of music there, and that "I won" line is neck and neck with "I am the one who knocks" for line of the season); you realize that the show went straight chalk; no real surprises, no good guy deaths, not even a shred of the emotional tension/loss that made Breaking Bad a contender to the throne. It was an episode of 24; masterfully done, but not transcending above the medium; a perfect series finale for a show. Except we have 16 more episodes with Walter White, and I'm planting my flag now, the show has jumped the shark HARD. It seems obvious that there are 2 endgames now; either Jesse puts a bullet in Walt (I'm calling it now that that scene wins Aaron Paul and Bryan Cranston dual Emmys in 2013), or Walt kills Jesse, and has his life crumple immediately after. Breaking Bad is the best show on TV now. No one else can ratchet up the tension like they can, or have interactions like Jesse and Walt. But if we have to get 5 or 6 space fillers next season as they slowly build toward that final scene, it's going to be insufferable. I actually liked the beginning of season 4 despite it's slowness, because of that menacing Sword of Damocles hanging over Walt's head. Now? How can they possibly keep the same tension alive when you know the endgame? Please prove me wrong Gilligan and crew. Kill off Jr. Gomey. Make Marie's kletptomania come back and actually matter. Do something with that final Jesse/Walt scene that will go down in history.
what about Mike? He's still possibly out there. Also, Hank could end up actually having to decide whether or not to kill Walt. Walt has just made a ton of enemies since Gus still has a lot of employees still living.
Considering how easily Walt and Jesse walked out of the lab, I doubt they are going to involve Gus's employees. I think its over and done with, Gus never had any second in command, he was a loner in control of everything. Mike I believe is still a player in this, but he's a gun for hire so I don't think he'll be looking for revenge. I think Walt will probably get cancer again and will have to start cooking as he's nearly out of money again....they have so many angles they could take. The most obvious has got to be Hank vs Jesse vs Walt since its the final season.
i think the fact that gus was untouchable and walt killed him will be a major story next year - i expect lots of angry chileans. and i see mike coming to work for walt - not trying to seek revenge.
Walt's not completely out of money. I think he owns his home, has at least $100K in cash (from the picture of the stash left over), and has all that car wash equity (how much was that worth?).
The car wash was worth about $800k. I'd guess he has at least $1,000,000 if he liquidates everything.
After reading a number of recaps and judging from Walt's baby's age, it looks like the general consensus of time passed so far is about a year. Oh how the mighty have fallen. I just can't help to think back to when Walt couldn't come to grips with having to kill Crazy 8 and would feed him and talk with him and merely a year later Heisenberg kills without batting an eye.
hence, the name of show. love the fact that we can all trust completely that these writers will finish this show in a great, appropriate way. i'm always nervous about a good show's series finale sucking. no doubt in my mind that this one will be phenomenal.
i read an interview w/ vince gilligan(?) that said when they were writing season 4 they were not sure if there would be a season 5 - thats why the show seems like it could have ended yesterday. but since they know 5 is it im sure it will be dramatic and key character(s) will die. i bet gus will still be there in flashbacks...they have to use that "untouchable" angle after building it up like they did this year. i think that is where the show goes next year. and is the mexican cartel done? and if not, will they now regard walt as an ally for helping them eliminate gus?
My only fear for next season is that they will have lots of scenes of Walt treating his family and friends like crap. In other words I hope they find a reasonable nemesis for Walt other then himself. Simply watching Walt 'break bad' is not enough. I need an entertaining catalyst to go with it.

Geez, in the interview he even said that this episode felt like a series conclusion, and that he wouldn't be entirely unhappy if it was. I feel like most of the tension is gone now. Makes me wonder how the final season is going to kick off.
I think it was the view from the car that Gus left in the garage. It did feel like someone was watching, maybe Gus' ghost!
