Hell, someone call up Carson Palmer and tell him to come down to H-town for a visit. I'd take him at this point.
Question - Would you take a 3rd or 4th rounder on Kase Keenum? even a 2nd? Start planning for the POST Schaub era? Rocket River Could have had Kevin Kolb!
Schaub is better than Kolb. If we win next week against the Ravens, everyone will calm down and back to normal.
Keenum?? Kolb???? What the hell is going on in here? Since when did Schaub fall from "above average" to "****ty, must replace now" ? Is everyone "top 4 QB or QB that MIGHT be top 4 in the future or immediately replace" ?
you can't keep ignoring the low throws and happy feet when schaub feels a little pressure. 2 major things that bother me about schaub, 1. for such a big dude schaub goes down so easy. there was a play where he literately was sacked by 3 fingers as the defender was engaged with the lineman. you're telling me you can break the grasp of 3 fingers from a guy on his back? i've seen schaub so many times fall to the ground as soon as he feels contact. haven't seen that crap since carr. 2. schaub never uses the pump fake to ease the pass rush or the d-line jumping up to bat his throws. a simple pump or flinch can buy you a precious half second. after the 2nd or 3rd pass batted down he should have known they were watching and timing his release. a simple flinch pump and they got off the ground early. a pump fake on the last play of the game might be all he needs to buy that extra time for the toss or run. in summary, plays scared and low football IQ.
Under 50% completion yesterday too, just unacceptable the team needed him to step up, and he chocked it up. DD
Mix of bad passes and poor routes being ran, especially by Jacoby....one dropped pass would have turned this around and people would move on.
Two drops. At the time, the Dreesen one would have been a first down close to the red zone... instead led to a blown challenge (loss of timeout), and a missed FG... all around bad series. The Vickers one was obviously devestating. All signs that collectively, this team is not good enough yet. EVERYBODY (Schaub included) needs to improve for this team to get to the next level.
I'm sure Arizona fans would gladly give us Kolb for Schaub. So far this year Kolb has 5 TD and 6 INT. I wouldn't be opposed to the Texans taking a QB in the 3rd or 4th round though to groom behind Shaub.
He does not need to be replaced NOW but we do need to start looking for the QB of the future soon I don't think Matt Leinart is the answer Rocket River
We've provided ample evidence; it's clear you're not reading nor considering it. You continue to narrow your criteria with each post as it is undoubtedly easier than conceding that you may have oversold your position. I don't expect you to change your mind; I'm asking only that you open it more. As I said in my last post - those of us who defend Schaub readily admit he's not perfect and are quick to point out his mistakes. My initial post doesn't sail past any of his errors and Donny and I, who are on the same page on this topic, actually differ with regard to our opinion of Schaub, in terms of how he plays *overall* against good teams. (Or, at least, we threw some posts on it back and forth.) But no QB is perfect, and that seems to be the standard you've set. They'll all have games like yesterday. Even the elite ones. And yet you refuse to credit "clutch" performances in otherwise team losses. How is the Jets' game, as just one example, on him? I would argue it should be more team focused. The team has universally failed too often in big moments. Yesterday alone, if Dressen holds on to a 3rd down catch (and Kubiak doesn't stupidly challenge it); if Rackers hits from inside 50; if Vickers walks into the end zone.... Those are huge plays that helped turn the tide of the game. I think it's silly to whittle a 60-minute game down to a single play and dump the outcome on a single player.
But that would actually take time and effort on the part of the person. So, naturally, we should never expect that of people. Rabble rabble, dey terk our jerbs, etc. is par for the course.
Meh. I said I would be ok with 3-3 after 6 weeks, and I stand by it. If we lost Mario for any extended period of time, I may go punch a baby though.
