Asteroid coming to destroy Earth in the next 12 hours

If not, I'll put my seed in a jar and throw it in the sea with hopes it will someday help in repopulating the Earth with awesome people.

 

Bunch of losers on here. The course of action is so simple...

1. Load the family, guns, crossbow, winter coats/clothing, snowshoes, books, Nooks, iPods, iPad, handcrank radio, and camping gear into the truck, hitch up trailer.
2. Drive truck w/trailer and family van to a big grocery store/Costco type place.
3. Crash van into store, load trailer with essentials like water and beans and jerky and powdered milk and more water and every battery we can find (shoot people if necessary).
4. Drive to primo abandoned gold mine site in the Coast Range of Oregon or NorCal.
5. Pull out chainsaw and cut down as many trees as possible while family unloads foodstuffs and carries them into the mine.
6. Load wood into truck and trailer.
7. Drive truck as far into mine as possible.
8. Block entrance as quickly as possible using available rocks and stuff while leaving small air holes.
9. Retreat into mine, start setting up camp, and wait on the big blast.
10. If we survive that, we've got a couple of years or more of major ice age/nuclear winter type stuff to wait out, but the mine should maintain a decent temp.
11. With any luck, we don't turn into mole people and come out after a few years and draw up the Constitution for the United States of rimrocker.

We may not make it, but we'd die trying.

Of course, if you live in a big city or an area without lots of hardrock mountains, there's no hope.
