I never said it's all about Schaub. I just don't think he is elite or clutch for reasons previously mentioned. Doesn't mean he is garbage. I don't think Manning is clutch, although he is elite. But when he threw that pick 6 in the SB I wasn't surprised either.

We all know Schaub's limitations as a QB. At the moment, there are no better options out there. I just hope this TJ Yates character will end up being a good pick. I think Schaub has reached his ceiling.

i don't think anyone ever thought he had a higher ceiling than what he showed over the last 2+ years

I've tried to defend Schaub but after watching the Raiders game, I just cant do it anymore. Schaub was off target all game. Numerous passes were thrown at the receivers feet, not giving the receivers a chance to make plays on the ball.

For Schaub to succeed, everything has to be perfect. 7-8 seconds of blocking from his O-line, wide open receivers and no pressure. If any of the above arent perfect, he gets happy feet and throws his passes at the receivers feet. The Texans may still get to the playoffs this year, but they are one and done.

Watch the replay again, he would have barely made it past the 5 yard line before being tackled.

I was at the game and I just watched the replay from another angle -- I still think he could have made it in. I've backed Schaub more than anyone, and today was the worst I've ever seen him play. My theory earlier was that maybe Delonte West slept with his mom. Either was I'm incredibly pissed off about the game. I figured they'd lose with Al Davis passing, but how they lost was what upset me.

Exactly. Alot of his passes lately have been inaccurate (low throws).

    Good not great.

Yes if we could only land Trent Dilfer or a rookie Big Ben, we would be money.

I tried to keep giving Schaub the benefit of the doubt but that time is over. He makes stupid decision after stupid decision. The time for a new QB has come upon us. Hell I'd even take Vince Young at this point. :(

Yea along with all-time defenses... I like those chances.

I'm thankful for Schaub taking out of the basement....but it is apparent he is not the one to take us to the penthouse.

I think the Texans are built to win with their offense. Most of the money is there and the head coach is an offensive specialist. The quarterback has to be great for this type of team. And I'll just leave it at that.

Two Matts I've never been sold on: Matt Ryan & Matt Schaub. Ryan missed several game-turning throws tonite. Schaub: Again, no clutch gene.

Skip is right, Schaub doesn't have the clutch gene in his genome.
