I think they are destined to fall flat every single year. This is not knee-jerk, since this happens every season... EDIT: Hopefully this also works as an anti-jinx thread for the game we are playing right now...
This thread is ridiculous and flat out wrong. The Texans don't suck. They Battle Fight! And it's better to Battle Fight and lose than to win. Winning is for winners, like New England or GB or NO. But in Houston, it's all about Battle Fighting, and no NFL team does it better.
STFU. Are you serious? go cheer for another team with these kinds of threads, man. You offer no analysis, no reasoning, just a knee-jerk reaction to one game.
How about season after season with disappointing results? Everyone hyped up. Oh. Its finally our time for a playoff berth. Its finally our time for a winning record. There goes that. Losing Andre Johnson would have caused us to lose games against decent teams. The Raiders suck. We should not have lost to the Raiders. Different season, same story.
There were some boneheaded plays.. sure. But this was more on the players. I thought I was watching David Carr and the 2002 Texans out there...
LOL...they don't suck. Today they played like crap and was a Schaub brain fart from winning the game. They'll lose next Sunday and set up a showdown for 1st in the division in 2 weeks. Edit - That said...they aren't really good until they start winning games like today.
Talk about knee-jerk to the maximum. We were missing AJ and Mario. Relax. It's week 5. 3-3 after next week but then it opens up big time.
I think Kubiak is subpar, but he doesn't play. It's on them, the players. I think we are close to playoff status but playoff teams win games like this. It's a long season and we are in an awful division, so it's not over by any means. If we end up letting the Jags or the Titans win the division, well, then pro football in Houston has hit bottom.
The Texans are just good enough to make fans care, but mediocre enough to make fans regret caring. BTW, if the Texans lose next week, that would be 1-3 over their last four games, which would be the typical nose dive that we've come to expect from our local Battle Fighters.
