Its totally based on scheme and the type of plays they run. Pound-for pound, they are not good individual blockers by any means... but they do work as a unit. They apparently don't work as a unit as well.

that touchback was huge for any hope of forcing oakland to run 3 plays before the 2 minute warning. i would've instructed my returner to take that out of the endzone no matter what.
There was nothing gimmicky about it. Standard fullback dumpoff that should have been caught, and should have been a TD. The play-action TD from early in the game was total razzle-dazzle-gimmick Kubiak... yet nobody complained about him getting cute there.
