I agree with this and I don't think any rational fan thought that they would win this game - and it's a good lesson for these young guys. Should make them stronger.
UT is going to lose probably 3-4 more games. OSU, Baylor, Aggies, Kansas State - but coming in nobody really expected them to be a top 25 team and the #11 ranking was, well a joke to be honest. But they could still make a bowl game and get these young guys some experience and then become a top 10 program again in 2 years time.
How exactly is losing 55-17 a great character building loss? What did Texas show on the field yesterday to suggest that?
It's a feeling they need to experience. Being incredible humbled. Feeling like they lost. REALLY REALLY lost. To remember that feeling for the rest of their playing career. No matter what you do, experiencing one failing attempt can make a world of difference from every moment after that. After all, Why do we fall master Bruce?
Mack is too nice, when Landry Jones was still throwing passes late in the game, he should have sent an all out blitz and planted Jones in yhe dirt. DD
At least in the NCAA there is a crazy unfair advantage that schools like Texas, OU, Florida and the other big schools have over everyone else. I think that helps them rebound. Everyone is equal in the NFL. That's why it's the greatest pro sports league.
I totally disagree. I applaud Mack for taking the high road. You don't want to encourage rough play when you're getting your butt stomped. Call the play because it will stop the pass, not because it will "send a message." Besides, Landry Jones is a college kid. He's trying to win a Heisman trophy and he's making the plays his coaches are calling. He shouldn't have been in the game, but he was, and that's on his coaching staff. This is just a game for the fans, but it's Landry Jones's life. While any injury that occurs as part of clean, hard competition as a part of the game, playing dirty isn't a game that Mack Brown plays. It is who he is, and it plays into his credibility as a recruiter. We have enough issues with off the field character to encourage bad sportsmanship in response to a fair and deserved butt stomping.
lol UT-Austin branch wasn't capable of this. If they could have, they would have. they were just overmatched in every phase of the game. OU shamed them
Once again, Vegas overestimates UT. OSU is only a 7 point favorite against this young/overrated Texas team. This is an easy one. People made a killing on that OU game last week and vegas is giving you another gift this week. Put the house on OSU +7. It's as close to a sure bet as you guys will ever see.
you said last week that ut would win by 3 tds. you can't spell pathetic without sactown. well, technically you can, but you catch my drift.
I got OSU at -8.5 but still put quite a bit on it..I just can't see UT holding them to a 1 TD lead especially considering OSU's high powered offense. Hopefully this turns out well
