There are lots of people in the Middle East who don't necessarily want to bone immediately, but want to wait till they're married, but can't find anyone.

 

I'm sure there are plenty around who want to do teh secks but don't have enough game/$$ and are 40. They just won't admit it.

 

lack of confidence, shyness, insecurities etc can play a role in how long you keep your v card.

 

I have a female acquaintance who, I just recently learned through a mutual friend, is still a virgin at 39 (turns 40 next month). While by no means beautiful, she isn't repulsive either ("homely" I guess is the best term), and I'm sure some guy would like take a run at her. But she is socially awkward, very shy, and leads a rather isolated life. She's the kind who collects plates and dresses her cats.

So, yes, they most definitely do exist.

Yeah, I got about seven years for that milestone. I guess once I'm old enough that I can't pop off three times a night (6pm - 7 am) it will get depressing.

 

China. The one child policy has screwed up the ratio of single men to women. They have several men that can't even get married, let alone laid. Parents are getting desperate and importing asian girls from other countries to marry their sons.

Sex is not even that big of a deal. If you realize all of the crap you have to put up to get it, is it even worth it?

But there is a ton of pressure put on guys in society to have their way with women.

I don't fault any guy that doesn't take the plunge for one reason or another.

I think the preference is (or at least should be) for guys to have meaningful or at least enjoyable sex with a partner, rather than Nike'ing it ("Just Doing It").

But when peers in a social group make it a priority, it can really **** with your mind (and own priorities). Unfortunately it's easy to get stuck assuming that the only opportunities is through going out drinking at the same bars/clubs if one decides he doesn't have other legitimate options for a nightlife/social life.

The bothersome part, at least with women in my opinion, is 1) knowing they want it but their ability to 2) be difficult and elusive because they 3) only want to communicate in their own way and 4) their desensitization to developing strong feelings outside of simple, mechanical, and fickle sexual "desires".

Of course that's most typically with younger women, but still can be incredibly frustrating.

I've got a couple close friends (~25) who have barely "made out" with women -- and they actively seek to get laid. Perhaps they expect it to come to them, but if I were in their shoes I'd just pay for it considering it's, in all likelihood, not going to live up to unreasonable, pent-up expectations.

 

Yes there are, because we've already developed a defense mechanism in convincing ourselves that we're either moral, self-restrained or successful and interesting enough that we don't need sex; so using a prostitute is like admitting defeat.
