I feel like I have a pretty good opinion when it comes to NBA talent. With a straight face, I can say Lowry is a top 30 player in this league. He is so underrated that it is hard to even imagine it. He is such a complete player.
Offensively he can do pretty much anything. A decent shooter, good at driving and good at dishing. Offense is only half of the equation, and Lowry is very Rondoesque in that he usually matches an competes with the other elite guards. That is because his defense is truly great. He seems like a late bloomer to me. Has some Billups to him, and it's nice to have him as a Rocket.

So which Lowry are they ranking?

    1. Lowry based on his historical play?
    2. Lowry based on last season?
    3. Lowry based on the 2nd half of last season?
    4. Lowry based on the belief that Lowry's 2nd half will be a launching point for career growth?

Ranking of 66 seems to be based on 2. While I think most posters here rank Lowry based on 3 or 4. I don't think either is technically wrong. To be honest, if I wasn't a Rockets fan, I also would probably look at Lowry's entire season rather than his great 2nd half.

Sure I understand the situation. It's pretty funny actually.

You said Lowry's 42.6 FG% was embarrassingly bad so I pointed out that Kevin Martin shot 43.6% from the field. My intent was to show you that using raw FG% as a metric is shortsighted, and you should be using advanced stats instead (such as true shooting %).

And instead of admitting I'm right, you say that Martin's FG% is ok since he shoots a high number of free throws at a good %. And that's a good point. And if you factor in his 3pt% & attempts, you get an even better idea of his overall scoring ability.

Want to guess what that's called? True shooting percentage.....an advanced stat.

Like I said, your ignorance is pretty funny.

There's no way I'd put Kidd and Miller above Curry right now.

Kidd is a role player nowadays. He plays defense, brings the ball up, makes the entry pass, and lets other people create shots for him. He reminds me of a bigger version of Derek Fisher.

I havent seen any of Andre Miller's recent games, but his stats are underwhelming. He was an 11% 3pt shooter last season. 11%. With a career average of 20%. Don't you want your PG to be able to provide floor spacing?

Not at all. If you can't support your assertion, that's fine.

Lowry was around a 50th ranked player last season. This season, I believe he can break the 30th rank if he truly embraces his role as the face of our franchise. His game is just so complete.

You don't need to shoot well to be a good floor general. Even when Kidd was young he was a poor shooter. I would rather have an all around PG than a shooting PG. There was a reason so many people wanted Lowry to start over Brooks even before Lowry started shooting well.

Which would you rather have....a floor general that can shoot or a floor general that can't?

It is not that simple. I will take Kidd over Curry for instance for his leadership, court vision, experience, and defense. Andre I probably would not though. I would also take Rondo and Lowry over Curry too in all honesty.

Or you take a good floor general.

Rondo can't shoot a lick if you put him in an arena by himself, but he is still considered a top 5 PG in this league.

You impact games in more ways than just shooting.

.......actually I said his field goal % was embarrassing, if you're going to say I said it was ok, I didn't, go back and reread it a few times and let it sink it. It's in text, it's not hard to comprehend. If you think ignorance is posting facts, then you in turn act like a dumbass and can't respond to these facts means I'm ignorant. I don't know what to tell you, because whatever schooling you do have, they've failed you, terribly.

I'll even make it simple for you, apparently Wekko thinks "embarrassing" = "ok" Nice one GED.

Why would you qualify the statement unless you think its acceptable?

    And "GED"? Seriously?

Because him getting to the line gets him more points, which is the point brought up about Martin. Woooooooooooooow, there is no way this is too hard for you to understand.
