I'm boycotting any related to the "superstar" players until they agree to compromise with the owners and get down to business. I WANT THE SEASON TO START NOV. 1ST!
The owners offered a 50-50 split after much deliberation not the players. As hard as it was for Stern to get the owners on board, I highly doubt they go any further. Most players are fine with this. It is only the superstars aka "highest paid players" who refuse to agree, solely because of their egos. Meanwhile, fans are forced to wait for them, so they can attempt get richer. As if Kobe's 25 million a year isn't enough. Worse than making fans wait, tons of people are going to be out of work because of the greed of certain players.
I heard owners never formally offered it to the players. And that they have stuck with their proposal of 47% players/53% owners
Yes they most certainly did. Maybe what you heard is that owners will not offer the 50/50 split again. http://basketball.realgm.com/wdiret..._Offer_50_50_Split_Of_BRI_Again_In_Short_Term
Owners offered 49% which can be bumped up to 51% after incentives and the players countered with 51% to 53% with incentives. Owners are more than willing to do a 50-50% split, but the players are holding out for 53%.
