The degree of difficulty on some of these shots... Wow...

I started watching the NBA in 1997. Back then Barkley was a Rocket, but over weight and past his prime. I wish I had watched him play back when he was in his prime.

IMO, there will never be another player like him. A 6'5" pf who can lead the league in rebounding, has 3-point range, is super athletic, and one of the best back to the basket players.

Barkley was a sorry 3-point shooter. Just because he shot them didn't mean they went in. His 3-point attempts with the Rockets irritated me to no end.

He was incredible in his prime. Never been a player quite like him. A freak on the floor. His official height in the NBA was 6'7, which was a joke. He was strong as an ox and way more athletic than he looked.

Well, the dent is that it was against Don the Gimmick No Defense Nelson's team.
But still quite a feat even given that.

LOL, when I first saw this on my phone it only read, "Charles Barkely drops 27....".

I thought he dropped 27 pounds.

Barkley was trash talking with Nelly before this game started and, to paraphrase, told Don Nelson "are you going to double team me tonight or what?" Nelly let his pride get the best of him and, instead of double teaming Charles and forcing the ball out of his hands, chose to single cover Barkley and this was the result.
