Typical Rice fan, making CUSA look bad with their crappy fan support, choosing to sit at home and troll on the internet over actually going to their team's games.
this defense is UH-esque. Kick off return for TDs mean nothing when you're giving up 7 each time down.
Once again, Gideon torched over the middle by Broyles for 20+ yards to set up the easy pitch & catch w/ Stills. I can understand Diggs, Byndom, & Phillips struggling on an island w/ either Broyles or Stills, but Gideon's coverage over the top has been pathetic. Like I said, he's the worst 4-year starter in the history of Texas football.
He's good, but he's INT-prone & is entirely immobile. He has the luxury of throwing to a spectacular receiving corp. Stills & Broyles are both premier NFL talents.
Would you say he's better than say Case Keenum? I feel like you can insert just about any decent college qb on OU and they'd do about the same because of the talent around him. That said, I don't watch enough college football to give an accurate assessment on him.
dont worry horns, y'all drop maybe 2 spots in the rankings. It will take 4-5 losses for y'all to drop out of the top 25.
I haven't really seen enough of Keenum to make a fair assessment. I do know that he's competing against weaker competition in a QB-friendly system, but he is more capable than Jones outside of the pocket/on the run. Jones is no different than the handful of other prolific QBs that OU's wide-open system has pumped out, like Josh Heupel, Jason White, and Nate Hybl. Both Heupel & White were All-American, POTY, poster-boy QBs that consistently contended for the BCS crown, but they were surrounded by dynamic talent... Jones is no different. He's benefited greatly from throwing to arguably the nation's top WR corp. He looks like a solid backup at the next level, but nothing more. His decision-making skills are a BIG question mark & his physical limitations raise another red flag, but only time will tell.
Normally I'd say that's crazy, but seeing as how Tamu is still ranked 24. It shouldn't be too bad a drop. Then again this games not over, Texas Fight!
