Seems like they will be cleaning off something comparable to clotting blood that would eventually form a scab (scar tissue), that's over the area. Technically that's new tissue, not part of the actual tendon, so i dont think he'll come out missing a piece.

It should be just like taking care of a wound by cleaning it, wrapping it up, and maybe icing it for inflammation, but this is on the inside. Sounds much worse because you have to open up the skin to get in there.

Apparently Andre thinks he will only be out two weeks:

Yeah judging by his quotes, the doctor says once he gets his stiches out he should be able to go full speed. He gets his stiches out early next week...so hopefully that lets him be okay for the Ravens game...that would be huge!

I'm hopeful for the Titans.....but even more hopeful they play it safe - if the tear was at the tendon, there's a giant risk for a rupture if he comes back too soon. That would be catastrophic.

According to Andre there was no tear...just a big buildup of scar tissue that was causing irritation and that they've now cleared out.

I agree. I really hope that the Texans win this week against the Raiders so there will not be even more added pressure to play him against the Titans.

Dang, if he misses only two games, that would be awesome. But I don't want him to rush back and re-aggravate it.

well in the article posted above:

so he said, he didnt know was it at first, and then he said he had some scarring around the tendon from an old injury and that was the irritation that caused him pain in the knee.

Couldnt a big lump like that compress a nerve? That could explain his intense pain, despite not really getting injured , apparently anyway. What he describes as irritation could be the lump compressing a nerve off and on. Also explains why the injury looked so awkward, he wasn't even planting his foot.

Adding salt to the wound: Madden took him off the roster. Why the hell do you do that? Who does that help? It's less fun for everyone. Not playing madden for a while

the lump probably caused some kinetic unbalance which caused the very slight tear

the procedure cleaned the scar tissue allowing for faster healing in the area

I'll copy my post from the other thread...

790 isn't reporting this. As of now, all it is is the interpretation (note the "in so many words" caveat) of one John Lopez, who I think most of you know is overly dramatic and not very credible. I would advise waiting for the podcast and/or seeing a direct transcription of Dre's comments before taking this seriously.
