It would've been neat if Microsoft's home page was dedicated to Steve Jobs... Anywho, Steve Jobs' 2005 commencement speech at Stanford where he talks about death (and other more cheerful stuff) : http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/technol...death-in-2005-stanford-commencement-speech-2/
No Iphone 5? Steve Jobs faints.... /sarcasm. All kidding aside. This is crazy timing. I guess people truly didn't realize how grave his condition was. He was the one person, with the money he had and (I'm assuming) the availability of treatments for someone like that, that I thought would have a good chance with pancreatic cancer. Truly sucks. A mentor of mine was recently diagnosed, and it sucks. Jobs truly did a lot, together with Wozniak. I agree with others in saying that he made some of the greatest contributions to the masses in our time. Although I don't know too much about him, I'd compare him to a Henry Ford-type.
Those people cry for the same reason people cried over JFK or Bobby being assassinated, for the same reason that they cried when Diana died. It's an absolute tragedy. People like Steve, Jack and Bobby, and Diana didnt deserve to pass on when, or in the manner that they did. It's the tragedy that invokes the emotion, not them being idiots.
well maximus gets the A-hole of the day award. Steve was certainly a pioneer in his own right. Sure, his ideas may/would have happened in due time but that's like without copernicus, people would still have figured out the sun is not the center of the universe...like saying modern science would have happened without galilei, etc etc... Jobs won't be held in that high of standard in the history of time, but nonetheless, his contributions were ground breaking and he initiated new ideas. No matter what you think, that's a respectable and noble thing...innovation must be respected and appreciated.
Steve Jobs was a incredible innovator/businessman/salesman honestly . . i know he had Pancreatic cancer and lived longer than most who had it Part of me felt like he did it with shear force of will. When he stepped down . . . felt like he just was tiring of the fight he did some extraordinary things Pirates of Silicon Valley - still one of my fav movies He will be missed I am truly saddened by his passing Rocket River
the commercial that introduced the Apple Macintosh Computer to the world. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/OYecfV3ubP8" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> I remember this
ArianFoster Arian Foster Pour out a little apple juice. Innovation was his name. May you live on. uTaught iLearned Much love.
All true, even the tablet had been done before as well as a touch screen phone. There is a saying that pioneers get slaughtered, but Settlers thrive. Jobs was a settler, and he knew how to recognize a good product but more importantly how to make it simple and cool.... That is a gift...and we all benefited from it. DD
I think this is probably the most apt comparison so far. He was the great business innovator of our time. While others pandered to existing markets, he created his own. Multiple times. His accomplishments will reverberate and be studied for years to come.
R.i.p. steve jobs, I hate your products but I respected you as an innovator... <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/lEyrivrjAuU" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Everybody should wwatch this movie about how apple and microsoft got started.
A truly visionary, revolutionary, genius figure. If he had 10-20 years left, I imagine he would have had at least one more game changing idea in him and the world is robbed of it.
