RIP. Times Obit http://www.nytimes.com/2011/10/06/business/steve-jobs-of-apple-dies-at-56.html?_r=1&hp
Much love Mr. Jobs. Love your company's products and vision. I've enjoyed them all over the years. Much of my career is thanks to you. RIP
Whoever wrote that needs to brush up on their history and at least mention Xerox PARC. They need to give credit where credit is due. The concept of the mouse and the GUI interface were both developed at Xerox PARC. If anything, it was after visiting PARC that Jobs went ape over using the mouse and GUI. The higher-ups at PARC were too stupid to realize the revolution their geeks had created. Jobs capitalized on it.
Pretty much. Some of the greatest inventions of the PC age came from Xerox PARC... the mouse, the GUI, the laser printer, ethernet, early object oriented programming, etc. It's ungodly how much innovation came from those guys that their old fart higher-ups didn't recognize would revolutionize the world. Steve was a great salesman and an incredible idea man, but even the Apple computer you give him credit for was really the child of Apple's co-founder Steve Wozniak. Without Steve, Woz was nothing, though. And speaking of Bill Gates : http://mashable.com/2011/10/05/bill-gates-steve-jobs/
Go **** yourself Pole you *******. I'm not that kind of a person who **** on dying or death people. As for Steve Jobs there's not doubt about it that he's an icon. A true genius business man that gamble and won. A great spoke person and will be sadly missed in the tech world.
the concept was created by a Stanford computer science professor, IIRC. Bill Gates' Statement: Sergey Brin (Google) statement:
Considering you're saying without Jobs we wouldn't have what we do now, yeah, their point makes a ton of sense.
You are correct. You're thinking of Doug Englebart. The real "father" of the mouse. I was thinking of the "roller" mouse that pc's used. My bad.
Rest in peace you mad controlling bad ass. You will be missed like no other in the tech world, watch the apple stock tomorrow.
I'm going to throw something out from left field..... Assistant Programming "SIRI" is really Steve Jobs' brain strapped onto the apple network.....
