I just picked up a Galaxy S II when the AT&T store opened on Sunday. lol. I finally got sick of my ancient iPhone 3G. This thing is beautiful. I'm still getting used to the OS, but most of it was intuitive or accidentally-intuitive.
booooo! but my t-mo contract won't expire for another 18 months... i think i'll just wait for whatever is after nexus prime
I've never used WebOS, this is my first real experience with the Android OS so I'm still learning, and my iPhone 3G was ancient, so I probably never got to take advantage of everything OS 4 had to offer. In other words, I'm probably not the guy to ask. But... this phone is pretty sweet. I had thought Android would be clunky, like some kind of "me, too" OS that was thrown together to compete, but it's been a smooth transition for me so far, and I have no complaints.... yet.
It has a 4.5 inch screen, but it is supposed to eliminate hardware buttons, making it physically smaller overall.
One of the beautiful things about Android is being able to change your launcher. I highly recommend you download ADW Launcher (Preferably the paid version, EX) You can download themes from the market, and customize the entire look of your dock, re-name your apps, re-size widgets, etc. This is all WITHOUT root access.
whats the camera like on this compared to the new iphone4s. I'm debating between these two phones most likely
This phone hasn't been announced yet. Nobody knows the specs on this thing. If I had a guess though it'll be an 8MP camera with 1080p recording.
I have had launcher pro + I definitely recommend a launcher as well, it gives you soooooo much customization, it's really unbelievable... i mainly use it to change my dock and resize widgets, well worth the couple bucks i paid
Hehe, the great Launcher Pro + vs ADW EX debate They're BOTH great Wave launcher is awesome and can be used with other launcher at the same time. I love the gestures on that .
launcher pro + was the most used at the time, so i just went with it this wave launcher looks quite interesting, i'm currently using swypepad as it lets me keep my homescreen (all 1 of them) clean and simple, i have nothing but widgetsoid on my homescreen... i may give this wave launcher a closer look
Used both. In the end, Go Launcher EX is the one you need. Good looking, supports scrollable widgets, very customizable, lots of transition effects. I like most of the Go team apps -- Go Contacts/Dialer, Go SMS Pro, Go Weather etc. Good looking, highly functional apps with tons of useful features.
I've used it before and it's neat, I just like the themes available to ADW. However, GO SMS Pro is my preferred messaging client, I don't like Handcent. GO SMS is pretty bad ass however the themes it comes with sucks lol Weather is nice but lately I found out about Simi Clock, you should check that out.
I spent a while hopping back and forth between ADW and Launcher Pro messing with themes etc. Eventually you get to the point when you just want things to look good and function well...and that's when I settled on Go Launcher EX. I mostly just use the default theme, a nice wallpaper, and a selection of good-looking widgets that tell me what I need to know. Looks nice, intuitive, easy to use, and helps me enjoy using my phone. I've used Simi widgets quite a bit...they're good.
Getting a Galaxy S2 on T-Mobile on the first day. Finally gotten fed up with my jailbroken iPhone. I was sort of hoping T-Mobile would get the 4S, but the more I read about it the more I'm convinced I'll be happier with the Galaxy.
