I wasn't trying to be Maher-esque, just being honest. No one looks good in red light. As a photographer we want the same thing, an even playing field so that we can shoot good photos. We want someone who cares about the lights to make the artists look good. It wasn't really Gary Clark, Jr.'s fault that someone at Discovery Green wasn't running the lights, his previous show in San Antonio was well lit and I'm sure his sold out show the next night in Austin was well lit.
