I started that thread. I did not think it was D&D worthy either. Glad it finally got here.

Also I heard the radio in San Diego was talking about this for the first time this morning though they called it as a miniture protest by idiots.

Why aren't these naive students protesting against the colleges and universities that charge them an arm and a leg for their overrated education?

That liberal chic in the video is naive and clueless.

Mr Esteban would hit if he was still single.

I am interested in seeing how this evolves (or dies off)... one thing that can be said, though, is that this is a much more attractive crowd than the Tea Party.

A good point. And many on the left would agree. For example:

Of course it was D&D worthy. Why you didn't think so or post it here first makes zero sense, as you have brought in Nazi Germany, police brutality, and China into the conversation.

I still don't think they will get more than a thousand. I am curious to see updates from today, a normal Monday in the city...

I posted it in BBS Hangout (no D&D), where crap topics should be posted. Not under this D&D directory. I just thought it was interesting but nothing to D&D because no one seemed to notice it. From there on, I did follow the protest closely, even donated money to them.

Anyway, I hope this will be a global movement, especially if China can chime in on this. It is not too late to fix the broken capitalism.

It is greed that leads these folks on Wall Street to stretch the rules and lobby for less and less regulation, knowing that the taxpayers will bail them out if they fucup which they did.

Look, Bobrek, this is beyond being a loyal GOP er or hating liberals/Obama or whatever.. Unless you have no 401(k), pay no taxes etc. you have been hurt by this even if you feel temporarily comfotable in a relatively secure job or self employment.

A global movement is a crap topic?

    That you predict will fail?

Again, DonFakeFan, much like this movement, I'm not sure I am following your logic here.

Everyone to their Apple Computers and ORGANIZE AGAINST CORPORATE GREED

You also don't need to worry about them being heavily subsidized by the folks who subsidize libertarians and endow business school professhorships to spread the simplistic "free" market message of non-regulation of mortgages, derivatives etc.

Sorry that you can't see it's not just corporate greed they are protesting against. You don't need to follow the logic obviously it's not for you. You must like our politicians being bought by the corporate lobbyists. You must like the fact that corporations can donate unlimited funds to political candidates. I don't I support the occupation, and Ron Paul.

    This protest is important.

The politicos are bought by Wall Street. The GOP almost 100%.

The Dems are contested. Enough DEms are in their pocket to block much reform. Obama is afraid to cross them and may even be their guy deep in his heart. It doesn't matter Obama will do whatever he thinks is best for his reelection. Geithner is Wall Street's guy in the Whitehouse.

Only protests will work and they have a chance to be effective.

    1) If enough heat is put on, you might few more Dems take them on and perhaps even a few GOPer's. Obama might rally behind the movement, but only if it looks like a winner and he is pressed hard.

2)The best bet in the short run is if Wall Street gets worried enough about public outrage and decides to stop spending tens of millions on lobvbying to block reform or sabotage the bill that the Obama passed that is becoming more toothless by the day as the lobbyists whittle away at the detailed interpretation of it. Wall Street if it is worried enough might cut back on bonuses (not that meaningful but satifying and just given the damage they've done) or perhaps even quit pressuring Obama's Justice so that a few of the more criminal types can be prosecuted which could be very important as it would tend to curb futher abuses.

My bad - though now I'm even more confused. You posted the original thread, it led to a multi-page debate, but now you're annoyed that no one posted it in this forum, even though you didn't even think it was worthy of this forum?

Who wrote that list - a 16 year old?

I could get behind #2 and maybe #6. Everything else is downright laughable.

Demand six and seven are completely at odds with each other.

    Idealism at its best.

Also, if all debt were forgiven wouldn't that eliminated wouldn't that wreck most pension plans, income sheets, etc?

I see what you mean, I guess it's their demands I don't get. this protest has led to serious problems with the NYPD, not corporate America. and I see that.I try to follow these guys but I give them credit for starting the movement. they need to organize better

I support effecting change with action at the local level. giving back, arts and awareness campaigns, community building, etc.

I also support getting up and going to work every day, are these people submitting their resumes?
