You should lose your job now. You are trash and I've never been so happy to see a starter not play because of injury.

You may be a wonderful human being but you are a horrible pro football player. Jason Allen isn't even that good but at least he's less of a liability than you.

    /Rant.

Allen had a good game but I don't know that he's the answer long term. If only the Texans had drafted a CB in the early rounds of the draft this year...

They drafted Harris in the second round.

Count me in with the camp that wants Quin back at corner and Nolan taking over FS.

The "Play Harris" crowd should know that, by all accounts, he hasn't been able to out play McManis or McCain. He's smallish and they have hopes that he'll eventually make it as a nickel back - not the CB2 spot.

Yeah, I was being sarcastic. Should have used the rollie eyes. Harris doesn't even get mentioned by Kubiak as someone they are looking at to fill the void at CB. Two fails at CB in the first two rounds two years in a row?

It' only week 5 of Harris's rookie season, maybe he's not ready yet. We all learned what happens you just throw a rookie CB out there, give him some time. If he doesn't start seeing more snaps and it's getting towards the end of the season then I would be concerned.

Back to Kareem, he had 2 at least average games the first 2 weeks, and was part of a defense that was ranked 1st. He got torched by the Saints, but the Saints can do that to anybody plus it's Kareem Jackson so that situation would be like going from 5th grade to college and expecting to succeed. The fact that he went relatively unnoticed the first 2 weeks opposed to what he did last year is a positive sign.

Let's all pretend that we got the same amount of pressure on Brees as we did on Big Ben and Kerry Collins.

Kareem Jackson looked fine in weeks 1 and 2. In fact, he was the one that created that big turnover against Miami when they had some momentum going for them.

Allen got picked on in the second half. Brown had the best game out of the receivers.

    This.

While Allen made a big play that sealed the game, he was picked on constantly by Big Ben and Brown. Kareem is not great, he may not even be good, but Allen is not the answer to the problem.

Its good for both of them, each has to play better to guarantee playing time.

One thing that did irk was Kareems constant smack talk to the Saints receivers in that game. I thought he was gonna get flagged several times.

If he can't even sniff nickel coverage packages there is something wrong. My money is on him being a bust.

Would Kareem have made that play at the end?

In fact I remember against the NYJ last year Kareem gave up a long pass completion in almost the EXACT same situation.

I really expected Mike Wallace to burn us yesterday, but he didn't. Not gonna say it's all on Kareem, but its quite a coincidence.

Fail. Braylon Edwards beat Allen on that long play. Allen should have led him on the inside since the Jets had zero timeouts left. But he let him get outside to the sidelines. Edwards made the catch and got out of bounds.

I hate it when he celebrates a play. He doesn't have the right to celebrate anything. No posing, no taunting just get back toy your huddle.

Gotta treat every play like its your last... In a sense , it very well may be... So I dont fault him for celebrating... Now taunting is a different story...

Allen is no answer at CB. I'm not even sold that he's better than Kareem.

Bust after 4 weeks into his 1st season? That's quite the over reaction. The corners I have seen us play so far are Joseph, Jackson, Allen, McCain with Nolan seeing plenty of action on passing down. He's basically competing with McCain for that nickel spot and they probably don't feel he's ready yet, he's a rookie. Our defense right now in terms of rankings is...

    1. 10th overall in yards per game
    2. 10th in pass yards per game
    3. 15th in rush yards per game

Looking at more accurate metrics, we are ranked
    1. 7th in QB rating against
    2. 27th in rush yards per attempt
    3. 4th in points per game
    4. 18th in 3rd down %
    5. 8th in turnover differential

That's pretty damn good. I would imagine it's hard for a rookie to crack the lineup for playing time on a defense that is playing well. If we were playing the way we were last year, dead last in everything, then MAYBE you could make the case he is a bust because he is not seeing the field while everyone else is sucking. But it is still ridiculous to say a rookie is a bust after 4 weeks into his first season

At least we broke Mike Wallace streak of 100 yard reception games. He was shut out in the 2nd half with 77 yards receiving.
