So at my last house I was "blessed" to have a large yard and a tool shed. I would scoop up the dog poop with a trowel and throw it behind the shed. Out of sight and out of mind. Our backyard is smaller at our new house so no room for a shed and no place to stash the poop. I can bag it up every couple of days but the trash can stinks. I know I can dig a hole but you never know when the kids soccer ball will ... well you know. I saw a dog septic tank thing but digging a 4 foot deep hole seems like back break labor. What do people do with their dogs' poop when they drop a deuce in the yard?
put it in a plastic bag an put it in the outdoor trash can. sure, the trash can stinks, but often does anyway. poop, or no poop.
I have a 14 week old puppy that is pad trained. When he poops on the pad I just pick it up his and flush it lol. He hasn't successfully pooped outside yet because he gets distracted but I'll figure out how to deal with that when it happens.
just bag it and throw it out with the trash. just be tactful about when you do it and where you put the poop bag. ideally, if your trash is collected twice a week, then you will scoop poop in the yard the day before and just set it out with the trash. if you want to do it daily, then find a place to stash the poop bag. i've seen people scoop it into a trash bag lined bucket and put the lid on it placing it out of the way on the side of the house or somewhere it won't bother anyone. it's not an exact science. you are not going to get away from the nastiness of the process no matter what you do.
Yeah, we have like a special little can in the back yard, with a plastic liner as if it were an inside can. Every couple of weeks, I'll gather that lovely bag and put it in our main trash can *right before* it's going to get picked up. So there's one stinky small can in the back yard, but our main trash cans don't smell like dog poo. We actually thought about the 4-ft underground thingie, but then I came to my senses.
Big backyard, which has multiple levels (hill), and the dogs choose one little area on the side of the house to poop. No smells in the patio area, no poop in the main yard.
The only place I ever take my dog is around my apartment complex and to the bark park. Both have several posts with poop bags and trash cans.
