Maybe the owner didn't like his managers getting TRASHED with his alcohol every night and treating the club like it was their personal party?
Anyone can maintain an already established strip club. Just show up and let the club run itself. Not many can pick up a club from nothing and make it INTO something...but if you are successful you get the bragging rights and the credit for putting a new strip club on the map. Johny is more worried about the sports bar side of the club that he doesn't think it's important to cater to the dancers and waitresses. He expects the girls to cater to him and his pool playing buddies. Girls want money they don't care about your friends and their stupid jokes. I tried to explain that to him but he doesn't seem to care. One of his waitresses called me yesterday begging to go pick her up, cause it was so slow and boring. What does that tell him? That he's a frigging idiot. At least when I'm there it's fun and girls want to come back. I'm just as shocked as ya'll it didn't work out. Small business owners are control freaks, and I'm glad we found this out right away. So I'm gonna go work at Teaser's and run the show how they want it...piece of cake.
Oh and I forgot to tell you guys. One of my waitresses works with a girl that does film editing for an independent p*rn company. Needless to say...I'm looking into it, I mean we have the girls and the investors. So why not? All we need now is an actor. Do I dare???
You seem way more interested in 'cred' and things being fun for your employees than actually making money. If one of his employees calls up a former manager and begs to leave, then she's an idiot and an employee the owner shouldn't miss leaving anyway. She's paid to do a job, whether or not things are interesting.
Mansion was gonna be my personal project, so you guys had it made there. At Teaser's I have a job to do and rules to follow. I don't have time for friends and clutchfans, they already have an established client base and a show to run. So unless you have cash $$$ on hand I can't really do much. I'm gonna give you an example of what I mean. My first year at Michael's I was the rookie and and I didn't know anything about the "game", so you can imagine how excited I was when Chris Wilcox walked through the door with his entourage. He had just gotten traded from the Sonic's to the Piston's and he was saying that he had heard good things about Michael's and this and that. So I shook his hand and sat him down in the best area I could find. I brought him girls and even lowered the club lights cause he liked it that way. I was like holy @#$!!! asking him questions about playing with the superstars of the league and whatnot. So my supervisor (now best friend) got mad, he saw what I was doing and told me, why are you over there? I was like cause he's in the NBA. He said look at Jeremy he's here 5 times a week and buys 3 bottles every time and spends over $2,000 on the girls all the time. Why are you over there with that jackass? He's not spending any money....just wait and watch. He was right. Chris Wilcox took a girl to the back and left shortly after. Didn't even open a tab, he only spent about $160 on drinks. I learned my lesson. In the strip club business money is king...and if you want to be treated like one then you better bring it. Stupid a$$ Chris Wilcox tried to throw his name around and my older wiser co-workers saw straight through his bullcrap. Teaser's in case you haven't been to it....caters to the old white guys and white collar crowd of the Hw 6, Katy area. So I'm gonna have to be on point you know? If you guys want to stop by that's great, but be warned the drink prices are outrageous, and if you want some "extra fun" it's gonna cost you. This isn't Mansion where I can party party party. I actually have a business to run.
You don't understand. How do you keep dancers and waitresses coming back to a club that just opened, has no client base, no regulars, no business whatsoever and no fun? You can't. So when you are trying to pick up a club from nothing you make sure everyone has fun...so they'll forget that maybe they didn't make money. They'll be back...why? Cause they HAD FUN. Simple concept really.
Fired? Like from Michael's? Cause I was new and didn't know ****. Staying in that business isn't easy. Many ways to get fired. From Mansion? Once my buddy and Johny split ways I knew it wasn't gonna bode well for me.
Johny tried to keep my staff at Mansion. The girls rather look for another job or be unemployed than go work for that idiot. He thought he could get rid of me and keep the girls. Not gonna happen.
Interesting thread as long as it lasted Not sure if i will ever use the knowledge i gained in this thread, but it was hella fun reading it

Raising anticipation and expectations so much and coming up empty WILL resut in people responding with jabs. Thats just how it is in anything, its inescapable. We really don't know the inside of the business on what works and what doesnt. We don't know and almost are unable to know the effectiveness level of your personal approach within the industry. Its that you've continuously "thrown caution into the wind", taking chances seemingly without any consideration of what can go "wrong". While at the same time in ABSOLUTE form basically GUARANTEEING good results. (And shamelessly promoting yourself as an ultra-stud in the process... ) Thats all the ingredients that can result in "Epic Fail" material. To your credit I've never gotten much "douchebag" vibe from it. Maybe just a classic case of overconfidence. But that doesn't mean to take a reserved "pragmatic" approach. Maybe its better to be overconfident all the time and never focus on the negative, and just move on to the next thing. That won't work toward getting credibility with so many public trials and errors But it will work toward personal success. "Keep Smiling, Keep Shining"
I'm not worried about Mansion not working out...the owner stands to lose more than us. We can get manager jobs at a lot of clubs in Houston, but we were helping him cause we wanted to take down Palace and Michael's. I'll just go work at Teaser's and wait for the next club off of Sheperd to open. Boats and Ho's can wait another couple of months.
