It's like the call in the Bears game last week when Hester faked out the defense on a punt return and Knox ran it back. They called a block in the back on a play that had no bearing on the outcome of the play. Weird, weird NFL.
Arian reaggravated it in Miami, not Houston. Knee injuries happen all over the league, regardless of field-type. I would still rather have this grass over field-turf... and this time of the year, the field is in much better shape than it will be in December.
Anyone catch who blocked the field goal? Was so focused on the runback and officiating fiasco that I didn't check the replay.
That was a nice dumb question. No... he should start going half speed and just fall down after each handoff.
It was Manning... part of the reason why I'm not going to crucify him for that play. I agree with you that the flag shouldn't be thrown... but it was a penalty.
oh it was ticky tack and if my team was kicking the ball i'm sure the refs would have just turned a blind eye to it (and hell, it was partially on the side, too) but it goes back to what me and my friend have been talking about. they need a penalty for stupid. like for guys who mini-headbutt a player after the play is over right in front of a ref and give the offense a first down like happened in the UT/iowa st game last night. or for guys who block the punter from behind when their teammate is already ahead of the punter streaking for a touchdown. manning was such an idiot he deserved to be called for something.
it reminded me of that Oklahoma state WR last week that fumbled right before the goaline because he wanted to showboat by holding the ball with one hand
It doesn't take a blocked FG for a TD practice to have a snap decision to determine that the holder won't catch one of your most athletic teammates. Some players can make that snap decision, clearly Manning didn't.
