Media kicked out of previous spot @ hotel for fancy wedding. Now near bar. Two priests just walked into it. I'm not kidding.

I asked Matt Bonner if the owners & players closed the gap today: "maybe a little but u have to remember how large the gap was."

    truth.

especially ironic since the shoes they wear are made by women and children in sweatshops.

With seemingly minimal progress made at today's labor negotiations, expect remainder of the preseason to be cancelled in the next day or two

Union council Jeff Kessler just said "still very far apart."

Just kiss an 82 game season good bye, I would be suprised if there is a season if at all.

Meeting for 8 hours and still far apart?

Too many road blocks in the way. I can't see any scenario in which they get this resolved by Nov. 1st.

With no real breakthroughs in talks today, NBA will have to cancel rest of Oct. preseason games and, finally, start of regular season

    WojYahooNBA Adrian Wojnarowski
Progress was minimal today, and sides will reconvene on Monday in New York.

Meeting ends still without a deal or a foundation for one. Derek Fisher says sides broke up issues with intention to tackle one at a time.

Most of that was probably Dwayne Wade 'being emotional'.

These guys are going to lose their self-assured "moral high ground" if they keep acting like they (reportedly) did today.

I think as a fan of any professional sport, there comes a time where you have to ask yourself whether it's worth it anymore.

The NBA is gonna lose alot of fans if real progress isn't made and chunks of games start getting cancelled. The players will realize that when no one gives a **** about them because of the NFL.

Newsflash Wade, LeBron, and Carmelo, no one is gonna care about yall when they have Brady, Rodgers, AJ and other NFL stars to follow.

Unlike the NFL, the NBA's fan will go very quickly from anger to apathy. This league is threatening to destroy much of what it's created.

Talks will continue Monday in small groups and Tuesday back to large group. Why not tomorrow? Billy Hunter says he is going to church. #NBA

The question now becomes how the NBA will handle canceling regular season games. Will they do it incrementally, like the preseason, or...

    ChrisMannixSI Chris Mannix
...will they, as some sources have suggested, nuke most--or all--of the season early.

    alanhahn Alan Hahn
Sides focused mainly on cap system and finding an agreeable formula. Left BRI split alone for a while, hoping to build up to it.

Finished another long day of meetings. Unfortunately nothing new to report. We are still very far from a deal...

    WojYahooNBA Adrian Wojnarowski
Union was always right about one thing: The owners clearly refuse to start negotiating until the players miss checks.

Think the time to doubt the resolve of a chunk of the owners to get a union busting deal is over. That the NBA hasn't moved much is telling

    WojYahooNBA Adrian Wojnarowski
NBA will cancel rest of preseason shortly and probably wait a little longer to axe regular season ones. Yet that's inevitable at this point.

No one needs to hear Stern call these "exhausting" days of negotiation. Exhausted are the arena workers piecing together parttime jobs now.

don't agree. The NFL is king, and we all know that. NBA fans are NFL fans too. It's not one or the other. It is seasonal. We love all sports.

not sure what you are saying.

Wade, LeBron, and Kobe don't really have anything to worry about in terms of popularity...
