Unlike the NFL, the NBA's fan will go very quickly from anger to apathy. This league is threatening to destroy much of what it's created.

I don't disagree with him...but that's in the short term.

I liken it to the NHL situation. They lost ESPN contract...they've been on a channel you didn't even know you had...but the owners feel like it was the smartest thing they ever did, seeing it through....cancelling an entire season.

Maybe the long view is a healthier league.

This is actually very true. Another NBA lockout can be as potentially devastating as the MLB lockout was.

This. I totally agree with that ... no band-aids please. Get any problems fixed for the long-term (of course, it helps my point of view that the Rockets probably a year before they can hope to be relevant anyway)

Speak for yourself, I am a die hard Rockets fan to the end and one of the biggest supporters of the NBA, with the fact that I take hours and hours of my time to research games, stats and follow every bit of trade rumors, but even I'm slowly going to the "who gives a ****" stage.

The Texans were always #2 after the Rockets but now the Texans have become my top priority and that won't change for a while.

It does help that the Texans have one of the classiest all star in Andre Johnson on their roster.

Finished another long day of meetings. Unfortunately nothing new to report. We are still very far from a deal...

Union was always right about one thing: The owners clearly refuse to start negotiating until the players miss checks.

Think the time to doubt the resolve of a chunk of the owners to get a union busting deal is over. That the NBA hasn't moved much is telling

NBA will cancel rest of preseason shortly and probably wait a little longer to axe regular season ones. Yet that's inevitable at this point.

No one needs to hear Stern call these "exhausting" days of negotiation. Exhausted are the arena workers piecing together parttime jobs now.

Pretty much. It's basically 4 battles going on in the war.

    Stern vs. Hunter
Big Market Owners vs. Small Market Owners
    Players vs. Owners
    Stern vs. Owners

You can get front row seats... if you are an NBA player lookalike.

Sounds good, I am up for the old games. I would be fine if they just replayed the Rocket's championship series over and over and over, both of them.

I don't like Stern, most of the owners aren't really losing money, and most of the players are spoiled brats. Cancel the whole season, lose your butts, see if I care. I am just a fan who pays for you people to be rich. If you don't want to be rich anymore, I can live without you.
