conquest is a better game type. Rush seems to promote more camping. I would rent it first if you are worried about gameplay.
True, I am not sure why they chose that map for Beta, it hardly shows what BF is known for.....destructible terrain and buildings and vehicle combat supported by infantry. DD
Love the game so far, despite the game having its fair share of bugs. And **** EA for forcing us to use their horse**** origin app, that thing is terrible.
They are trying to take on Steam and are not ready...I do find it funny that they named it after Origin, a company I used to work for that was bought by EA. DD
Yeah, i get that, but in addition to being incredibly buggy, its also a giant piece of spyware. Another scumbag move by a scumbag company, its unfortunate BF3 had to be involved.
Man, I am NO fan of EA, trust me. We nearly had a deal with them in January and they backed out..... DD
This one doesnt even have vehicles. I know that is heresy for fps, but that's what made bf 1942 such a game breaker. Those that didnt play it dont really get the game. I can take out tanks and helicopters as infantry. Its not hard and is very satisfying. There are so many rocket guided turrets and aa guns that its not hard to take out actual people in vehicles, as opposed to killstreaks.
Ok, been playing a bit, and I don't like this map at all....overall it is buggy, but that is to be expected, I fell through the map on more than one occassion, especially around rocky terrain at the beginning when trying to go prone. That is a geometry and collision fix though, they just need to find em all.... But the map itself is not that great, and doesn't do a good job of showing off what makes BF special, large and in charge with vehicles......this one is a pretty lame romp through a park, the subway and back out into the world again. Still can't wait for the real deal, but I think the demo/beta overall is not what it could have been with proper map selection. DD
I have read that too, but haven't actually seen it from an official source. Anybody have a link from a credible person with DICE or EA confirming this?
1. Falling through the map has been temporarily fixed by turning terrain deformation off. They already have a permanent fix for retail version. Other FPS's do not have this problem since, well, there is no terrain deformation in them. 2. Graphics have been toned down because this beta is more for stress testing the server, most of the actual bugs already have fixes since we are playing a month old build. 3. The reason why they gave us Operation Metro rush, as opposed to a "true" Battlefield map and game mode, is because they are targeting the masses and COD players. No matter how much Battlefield vets hate the map, they are still buying the game since we know what Battlefield will really be about. However, if they used a full on vehicle map like Caspian Border, COD players like seculsion wouldn't know the first thing to do as helis circle strafing and spawn raping thier asses by BF vets. It would scare them all away. This is why DICE chose to show a dumbed down mode on a dumbed down map for the dumbed down players so they can run around with their shotties underground and get their kills in a meatgrinder cluster****. Like they already do everyday in COD.
I'm going to rent for single player and if my mind changes on multiplayer which I hope it does, I'll pick it up
What kinda money would I be looking at in Video card, CPU, Motherboard, and RAM to run this game well on a single 1920×1080 or 1600x1200 screen? I have a gamer AM3 board from Gigabyte, but thinking of starting over.
Assuming you already have a quad core processor, all you really need is a new video card to run the game on good settings. The recommended video card suggested by dice is a geforce gtx 560, which goes for around $250.
