what debate? Matt Schaub is good QB that can manage a game with the best. Just don't expect him to put the team on his shoulders late to win against great defenses. He's accurate but can't throw the ball deep. He's smart in the pocket but slow as molasses. He's a beast in PA and won't take a sack if he can get the ball out of bounds. I've come to terms with him not being great and until we hit the wall of where he can take us (I think the AFC championship game) he'll do.
I remember arguing in Schaub's corner a full 2 seasons ago, before he had his insane year (followed by a good year last year). I understood that argument, but I was on his side. At this point, I def don't get it. Some good arguments ahve been posted by Donny, among others. If it's not enough to sway someone, then they're just not open or reading
Schaub was a minimal yet efficient today, just like he needed to be. You don't beat Pittsburgh by chucking the ball around the yard.
He is good not great. He did what he needed to do. I am worried about Andre. Rick please call Randy Moss.
he threw some suspect passes and dierdorf called him on it. particularly that pass to owen that they needed that owen had to dig off the ground. it was less than ten yards and daniels was wide open. i have had confidence in schaub but i'm starting to see that more and more, particularly in crucial situations.
Exactly, he bails out when he doesn't have to, when he stands strong and throws he is amazingly accurate. DD
Yea I saw those are the throws you have to make in stride to get YAC. What if it was a 4th & 7? Turnover on downs. I hope Schaub can bring his best next week.
Statistically Schaub is one of the better QB's when under pressure. Both very accurate and good decision-making.
