Two points that hold no water.

    1. How many businesses overall were successful last year? I Why should sports be any different?

    2. It amazes me how the players especially take this so hard. You're getting paid to play a game. If you plan financially from draft day most players will never have to work again. Reality leaves the first game of your rookie season. I'm paying your salary, get this **** resolved already.

When the revenues are not good, businesses cut expenses to stay "successful." That's what the owners are allegedly trying to do.

Everyone is greedy. If you had the leverage to get more from your employer, would you do it? Doesn't matter how much you are already making. That said, I agree that a lot of players are just dumb in money management. The vast majority of them can live comfortably for life after getting their rookie contracts if they are smart with their money.

What I've gathered from various articles is between tomorrow/Sat/Sun, there better be some optimism flowing that an agreement is imminent. The so-called deadline for a handshake to save the season is the middle of next week.

Even if tomorrow doesn't accomplish everything, if the sides agree to continue meeting over the weekend, it ain't over. If they break off tomorrow, both sides are doubtful and they don't meet Sat & Sun, part of the season will be missed.

    To answer your question, no.

Besides demanding more slices of the BRI pie, the Owners also want a five percent reduction on all existing salaries for this season, a 7.5 percent reduction of all 2012-13 salaries and 10 percent reduction of 2013-14 salaries.

Another hurdle to overcome for both parties this weekend.

Source says Kobe Bryant won't make it back from Italy in time for tomorrow's meeting in NY. LeBron, D-Wade, Carmelo, Durant will be there.

I like the tiered tax situation, it helps. I like the idea of 50-50 split also. all that is good, but if you want the psuedo hard cap, which is what it looks like, it goes back to revenue sharing.

If the lakers, mavs, celts,or klnicks feel like they have a championship worthy team and they need players for depth and such, they will pay that amount. The reason behind the madness is the money they dont have to share and thats what creates haves and have nots. The revenue from local tv,cable, and radio are huge knots in those franchises pockets. Its bad enough the income generated from lux suites and boxes, but that other money is crazy. Thats why why the gap is seemingly getting wider and only the big markets have a chance. If the owners get their revenue sharing in order, everything else is easy and everyone will be happy.

Teams that don't use the amnesty cut should be rewarded in some way.

The amnesty cut is too generous for irresponsible teams IMO. They should not get 100% cap relief.
