+1. We bought the cheapest king size that Tempurpedic makes. I think it was around $2,500 and was some of the best money we've spent. I'd also heard that they get hot, but it's simply not the case. At least if it is, I've never once noticed it.
I had a waterbed. That was a pretty long time ago. That was my first apartment, where I also had a disco ball and christmas lights up. I had them all on a single power strip so I could turn on music, disco ball, and lights when I got home with a single switch. Then I'd chill on my papasan or the $25 couch and drink a Zima. I'm a Sterns and Foster pillow top kind of person now.
We have been sleeping on waterbeds since 1972. We put in conditioner once a year..that's it. But my wife and I actually enjoy the fact that we kind of roll into the middle from both sides. A lot of people don't.
Just bought this bad boy. I was able to use my Amazon Prime to get it shipped overnight for four bucks. I love Amazon Prime. It's not TempurPedic, but it has similar specs and it was a fraction of the price. It's actually a clone of the Celebrity model that is now discontinued. I'm lovin it so far. http://www.amazon.com/Celebrity-13-Inch-Pillow-Memory-Mattress/dp/B000WZSRR6/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1317569720&sr=8-7
