That ball was low but catchable....fun game to watch if you like a lot of scoring and bad defense.

These wins are meaningless as far as I am concerned. The UH defense is just embarrassing, pathetic, maybe the worst defensive performance by a college team that I have ever seen. The Coogs are fools gold until they get the defense fixed, and I say this EVERY season. Yes the offense is fun to watch, but overall, it is painful to watch a game where the defense is this bad.

10 years of zero defense, so i'm used to it.

gonna be ranked, and that's great and all, but if a team as inept as UTEP can drop 40+ on us, then ECU, SMU, and Tulsa all look like almost certain losses.

in fact, the SMU game may break NCAA records for yards/points.

 

I agree, but, why oh why, do Sumlin et al not focus on improving the defense. They got a new coordinator a couple seasons ago, but I think it has even gotten worse. Just awful.

 

Maybe. This game had a lot of similarity to the 2009 UTEP game where UTEP beat us 58-41. We still went on to beat Mississippi St. and SMU. Also, SMU and ECU are both home games, and UH plays way better at home than we do anywhere else. The only away games left are UAB, Tulsa and Tulane. UAB and Tulane suck this year, and it's hard to tell how good Tulsa is gonna be as they have had one of the most hilarious schedules FBS (of their last 4 games, 3 have been against top10 opponents).

 

This is Brian Stewart's 2nd year on the job. He has an NFL pedigree. But so far, this is looking like the same song different verse.

Typical UH defense, 1 guy who can actually play (McGraw) and a bunch of nobodies who couldn't hack it on offense.

 

UH does not deserve to be ranked.

 

I will say this though, Michael Hayes is one bad ass mother f***er.

And Charles Sims ain't too shabby either, although he likes to cuddle with his teammates in the endzone.

Dropped passes are becoming a bigger problem. Even against Georgia State, easy passes were getting dropped. That problem needs to get fixed asap.
