Polamalu is a terror at the line of scrimmage. He has good instincts in coverage, but that's where he can be exposed. Similarly, the LB corps have shown to be weaker as a coverage unit as well. Timmons is a playmaker and Woodley can be too, but Farrior and up until last game Harrison have been showing their age. Ike Taylor's good, but B. McFadden is their Kareem Jackson. Casey Hampton was manhandled by a 36 year old Jeff Saturday.

Why don't we ever use Kareem to blitz the QB since he can't cover anyone?

I'm expecting a Colts style beatdown, this is not the quality Steelers squad you see year in and year out. Their O line was a pile of suck to begin with and now they lost Colon and just about everyone on the line is seriously banged up.

Very confident that at home with Foster back and a ticked off looking for revenge Texans team will stomp Pittsburgh.

    Texans 31
    Steelers 10

Omg really? A Texan blowout?? Don't get me wrong, I'm expecting/hoping for a win but don't get it twisted. The Steelers are the Steelers. They KNOW how to win, and they'll make it a game. It wont be a blowout by any stretch of the imagination,

This squad is almost completely different than they were even 4 years ago.

They pretty much lucked their way into the superbowl and played subpar last year and even this year.

Horrible O line, questionable DB's and a receiving core that is sucking big wieners leads me to predict:

    HOU:27
    PITT:14

Im not saying were as good as the Ravens, but the Steelers were absolutely pummeled by Baltimore in week one...and they should have lost to the Colts this past Sunday. This Steelers team is a far cry from what the public is accustomed to seeing from them.

Im not so sure about a blowout, but the Steelers are prone to getting their asses kicked.

I liking this matchup, steelers getting old.
if addai gets 89 yards and 1 TD (to tie the game in the 4th) against that steelers D, imagine what a healthy foster would do, or even tate.

also the receivers of the colts had some open looks, that with a better QB, should got more yards.

Im worried about kareem jackson, but the texans front 7 would pressure big ben a lot.

    Texans 27

i only have seen about two or three exotic blitz packages from Wade. I wonder if he is holding them back or doesn't trust the Secondary that much

The Texans need to prevent Schaub from getting knocked around.

If you look at it objectively, the Texans have a very good chance to win. But this game scares me.

Since I'm a lifelong Steelers fan, I won't be too disappointed if they beat the Texans. I want one of these two teams to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl.

    Go away, fantasy dork.

The more people that predict a win, the more nervous I get. I am VERY cautiously optimistic.

But I do agree with Ric. THIS is the game that will show us what kind of team we really have - not the game last week.

The season doesn't depend on winning this game, but in a way, I think the fragile psyche of us Texan fans does.

Don't let it turn into a shootout Texans D, because the steelers are more than capable of breaking through.

I can see it going 34 -31, steelers taking the win. Matt with 400 yards throwing, four touchdowns, zero ints, but in the end, driving for the go ahead touchdown, someone forgets to block polamalu, that causes a sack fumble. Steelers kick fg and matt schaub continues to suck. =/

    Kareem still on team :(

3-1 sounds a heck of a lot better than 2-2.

Andre Johnson now only needs six receptions to reach 700 for his career. He should get it Sunday, but if not then definitely will against Oakland. When Johnson reaches the milestone he will become the second fastest player to reach 700 catches. Sunday will mark Andre's 119th game and Marvin Harrison got 700 catches in 114 games.

    Game Release

    Flip Card

    Injury Report

    Preliminary Roof Report: Closed

Uniform: Blue Jersey / White Pants. The Texans are 1-0 this year with that combination.

Castor, why don't you just make a "pre-game" thread... and then on gameday, make the official game-talk thread and close the pre-game thread?

I like this idea. Since we have a forum dedicated to the Texans
I think breaking it up would be good

Because the pre-game thread would turn into the old forum game thread. 500 different topics being discussed in one thread. That was kind of the point of separating it out. All of the posts I separated out where legitimate posts. I had no problems with any of them. he only thing is, that other than the initial post in the Schaub thread, none of the other stuff was related to the actual game.

It is somewhat of a change in past thinking from all Texans stuff goes in this thread, to hey that's a good topic, lets start a thread to discuss it. The intention is to foster more discussion about the Texans (and the Astros too). I'm attempting to help with that by trying to keep good discussions from getting lost in the game thread. If that means me moving out posts to their own thread for a few weeks, I'm fine with that. In reality I have only deleted 2 posts in the game thread. They were both about non Texans stuff. I moved the Schaub stuff, the Cushing stuff and a fantasy post out. None of those were moved because there was anything wrong with content, I just want to keep the game thread about the game.

A preseason thread would not be a problem, but it still wouldn't be the proper place for any of the info I moved out (and truthfully I may try that next week instead of calling it the game thread). To cover the stuff I moved in one thread would mean I need to make one called "Everything you want to discuss about the Texans" and that would put is right back where we were trying to get away from.

Edit: If I misread your intention and you weren't really talking about moving all the stuff out today, then just ignore this and know that we will attempt a Pre Game thread next week to see how it goes.
