One more coaching job left for him? So he is retiring after coaching the T-Wolves?

It feels like such a waste... The guy's last run should be with a contender, not some permanent lottery team.

I hope nothing but the best for Rick, truly a professional and one of the more underrated coaches in the NBA.

One of the few moves that Morey will regret.

Timberwolves have a better nucleus of young talent and superstar potential (i.e Love and Williams)

Probably a mutual thing, I think both sides realized 42 wins was the ceiling for the group.

Rick deserves better than this, and it's hard not to feel bad for him for having to work for Kaaaaaaaahhhhn -- but, I guess it really his fault for not being more patient.

This is a suprisingly great hire for the Timberwolves , but every time Rick Adelman takes a job with a team that he can never win a championship with a fairy dies.

But you can bring them back by saying over and over again...I do believe there will be a season, I do believe there will be a season...

What's there for Aldeman to work with besides Williams and Love?

At PG they are screwed with Rubio (for a least a season or two), Ridnour is a solid back up. Aldeman doesnt have a choice but to play Rubio and Ridnour.
They are screwed here for a while (Kahn).

On the wings besides Williams I dont think anyone is guaranteed a spot. But Aldeman has a lot to play with on the wing. Malcolm Lee is known for his defense, Webster is known to be a good shooter, Ellington is inconsistant but might succeed under Aldeman. Beasley and Randolph can cause match problems coming off the bench to play SF or PF.

Up Front besides Love no one is guaranteed playing time either. Tolliver can stretch the floor and grab a few boards too (Aldeman will love that). Darko is a good defender and has some low post skills but switches on and off too much. Pekovic is much like Darko except more consistent with a better attitude but slower and worse ball handling skills.

Aldeman needs to try everyone out 1st and pick who suits his style. Then they can look at trading or dumping the leftovers. Aldeman will probably be shopping in the FA market too.

    Rubio/Ridnour
    ?????/Webster/Lee
    Williams/Johnson
    Love/Tolliver
    ?????/Darko/Pekovic

They should try trade Beasley and of the Centers for Barngani. Aldeman can have his high post player in Bargnani, low post guy in Love, penetrator in Williams. Surround them with shooters and defenders. Aldeman can have a ring by the time his contract expires.

best wishes to Rick the Ruler, Toyota Center will give him applause, he deserves it. One of the best coaches we've ever had. He didn't take crap from anyone, he clearly ruled.

I think it's interesting that so many still don't know/understand why Adelman isn't our coach anymore despite him specifying why in plain English on several occassions.

Sometimes plain English isn't good enough.

The theory was, the Rockets were going into rebuilding mode and Adelman (at his age) didn't want to coach a rebuilding team. That theory had been floating around for quite some time even after both he and Morey were quoted to say that Adelman wanted to come back to coach this group of Rockets players.

"I kept looking at this group and I thought, this could be a really (desperate organization) good situation with the youth they have, the talent they have, (they won 17 games? wow... Daddy gonna get a pay day!)" Adelman said. "You never know what you can do (no real pressure) and I felt it was a great challenge (cha-ching!) and so I decided it's a good place (many millions of dollars), it's a good place to take the challenge up and try to turn things around." (I am out of there in 2 years)

sadly for us Rockets fans at least the Wolves have a young potential superstar in the making in Kevin Love. Rockets have Thabeet.

Well we do have plenty of really good role and borderline allstar players but none with the youth and potential of klove.

Yeah sadly I agree with this assessment.

Even if the Wolves are run poorly and the Rockets are run well, Minnesota is further along on its Curve of Suckage than we are. Our next year projects to be worse than our previous one, and Minnesota has sucked for so long that eventually all those high draft picks have to amount to something (don't they?). Ok yea the LA Clippers would beg to differ, but still, the fact remains: the Rockets' "rebuilding" process is going to take at one more year than Minnesota's, and at this point is just scrounging for as many wins as his almost-HOF career can muster up. The separation still made sense for both sides.
