I'm sitting here having a handful of Planter's Deluxe Nuts and thinking, screw those peanuts...I'm never going back. Life is too short to settle.

Booze. High quality booze is always worth the extra $$$. I'd rather not drink it if it's some cheap crap.

To a point. The thing about booze is finding the great deals out there. Example:

Is one of my favorites. It's better than a lot of $50/bottle whiskeys out there, but it's $28/bottle.

From experience, are those $3,000 Rockets seat tickets worth it?

I don't like store brand foods, besides soda. It's mostly from a lack of trying, but I'll always pay that extra $.50-1.00 for the name brand.

yes - spending a lot of money on great pillows, blankets, comforters and comforter covers, and most importantly sheets makes all the difference in the world.

I long used store brand mouthwash... but recently started buying Crest Pro Health Rinse (and spending the premium) b/c in addition to the name (which I don't care about) - Crest doesn't use alcohol in its product - and you don't get the gross side effect of using alcohol-based mouthwash.

You can stretch your legs in the bulkhead for a lot less. :)

Generally true. I always try for the bulkhead. But Lufthansa surprised me with one of their planes where the bulkhead is no better. I guess some of their planes are different. I have also learned that in the back of the plane, it curves inwards and 3 seats turns into two. If you get one past that change...then you have leg room. But sometime the missing seat is a window seat and sometimes it is an aisle seat...so you don't know. I really need to learn the various plane seating plans.

My best plane experience ever was on a flight within the Philippines where there was no assigned seating -- first come, first serve! You better believe that I grabbed the Mrs' arm and pulled us into the emergency exit lickedy-split! Those planes are so cramped, but we had several meters of legroom. For a long-legged sailor like me, that extra space is golden.

I did spill a bit of the complimentary juice on my shirt, but that was no big deal.
