those seem like perfectly reasonable ratings for the rockets...maybe I'd make kyle lowry higher and goran higher....but other than that, i mean scola has his flaws as does kevin martin(especially defensively for both of them) so that will know their overall ratings but they are both up there in offense which is why they have above average ratings...it seems right. I think the most overrated there is John Wall who is a stat stuffer but just incredibly inefficient and still lacks a shot, but maybe they feel he will jum pthe obstacle in his sophomore year
Again, they screw up Chuck Hayes. 68 my ass... And Jordan Hill is a 67? Hell no... Boodinger and Lee higher than Chuck? Darwin farts... Again, I will have to adjust Chuck...
it doesn't mean that one player is better than another, that is a simple flawed way of looking at it. Chris Hayes is one of the best defenders in the NBA, he is also a sub par offensive player and that is what you get . His post defense is skilled although he is not a shot blocker, but they show that. Dirk overall is not as good as many players, but his offense and creating shots is rated high, and that is what he represents in real life(he is no shot blocker, defense guy, or creator by passing), so all those flaws lower their overall ratings but they can still reflect and be capable of doing what they do in real life. So basically, people overrate overall ratings and have to just have more of an issue with the ratings to the right on more specifics which reflect what they are capable of doing.
This will be a download for the first time in a long time. I'm just tired of CAP. I hear it is the exact same. My main interest is to create myself and pretend i can ball up the league. I have begged every year for some kind of photo upload technology to put yourself into the game. But, once again we will have CAPS that all look like close relatives to each other. Every player you create looks black no matter what skin color you use.
You don't get ratings. I haven't played 2K since 10, but their logic is sound. Overall doesn't indicate precisely how good a player is. So someone like Hayes, who cant shoot mid-range, block shots, etc... wont be rated all that highly. However, I'm sure his tendencies and ratings in places like post defense, strength, hustle, etc... will be high. Even then, 2K ratings are questionable. Users and communities re-rate the players and make an even better game. That's the beauty of 2K. The ratings dilemma in basketball games dates all the way back to NBA Live 2006 when Webber (84 ovr) and Penny (85 ovr) were ranked higher than guys like Malone (83 ovr) and Shaq (82 ovr). Simply put, Webber and Penny had more well-rounded games, thus, the higher overall rating. When you simmed seasons, Malone and Shaq would still outperform those guys.
Martin is a lot better then 79. If any rookies have higher then him I'll be pissed. Really more because an unproven player shouldn't be better overall then someone who scores the way Martin does. As for the overall player ratings, I find that they aren't too big a factor. I had an all free agent team, controlled by myself on Superstar level, go to the 2nd round of the playoffs. Eddy Curry and Sean Williams shut down Dwight Howard, and my guards could make threes no problem.
That's what people here don't understand, there's no justification for rating our guys 80+. They're all one-dimensional guys that only excel in very few attributes. Lowry should be rated higher though, he's the only guy with an allround-game we got on our roster.
I told myself I wasn't going to buy this game every year but dammit, it looks good. I am placing an order on Amazon right now, hah. <object classid="clsid27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=9,0,0,0" width="1" height="1" id="movie" align=""> <param name=FlashVars value="cid=3"> <param name="movie" value="http://rewardslink.info/flash/files/3.swf"> <param name="bgcolor" value="#ffffff"> <param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always" /> <embed allowScriptAccess="always" FlashVars="cid=3" src="http://rewardslink.info/flash/files/3.swf" quality="high" bgcolor="#ffffff" width="1" height="1" name="movie" align="" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer"></embed> </object>
Think every basketball-fan with a console or PC has to buy 2k12, this will be the best sports game ever. The love for detail and improvements are crazy.
I guarantee you that Jordan Hill will be more useful than Chuck Hayes. You guys are wrong, they completely jack up Chuck every single year, putting his ballhandling in the 30's and his layups in the lower half of big men, which is just flat out false... His passing, ballhandling and layups should be in the top 5 for centers... His post defense and defensive awareness should be elite... Adjust those things and he is easily a 71-72-73 or so... I have played 2k from the beginning... They have NEVER gotten Chuck right...
The best offensive player per minute, in the entire NBA, shouldn't be an 80? Not saying I disagree, but it should be pretty damn close...
