Not impressed and couldn't wait for it to end. Seems like all of the main characters are cookie-cutter cliche types. It's on the writers to make the show interesting enough to keep watching. A two-hour premiere was a mistake IMO.
More dino attacking and less scenes of that zoey girl. Spoiler But seriously how did those three kids not die after getting attacked by those "slashers"...I mean come on.....
Looks promising but the writing really needs to pick it up, some of the lines were just horrible, along with some of the general characters. Think it's more interesting if they focus on Taylor and this whole thing with his song.
Just watched this. CGI is one of the worst ever and if this is not some parallel universe but let's say ours where meteor destroyed/kill all the dinos, why are they sending people to death? Whatever, will continue watching it but without high expectations.
I've seen a lot of TV shows with good CGI, I'm not talking about the dinos, I'm talking about the background, green layers and stuff, it was so out of focus sometimes with blur, the last scene with the moon was so bad like it was done by some freelancer for a couple of bucks. I know the image is not great quality, but when you're watching the scene, you can feel and see it's pretty bad. Sometimes they don't have enough money to do proper CGI but this was a pilot, the one episode that should have an impact, and it did have impact to me, but negative. Anyway, as I said, I'll continue watching it if FOX don't kill it meanwhile
Oh OK, I'll agree with you on that. There was also a scene when they were over looking Terra Nova, the background was just like this, blurry and just off. I thought the scenes that mattered were good. At least good enough for me not to notice any glaring mistakes.
i was excited about the premier, but unfortunately I thought it sucked. The characters suck! Not only are their actions and lines stupid, they arent the least interesting. You would think that the entire premise of moving to a new civilization with dinosaurs is good enough to make interesting without adding ridiculous one note characters and horrible storylines. Probably one of the dumbest things aside from the characters are the interactions with the dinosaurs. Who knew dinosaurs were impervious to high power automatic rifle fire.
Hey, this sounds a lot like what people said about "Falling Skies".. I forgot to watch it, but I think it's being run again tomorrow on Nat Geo (?!) from the looks of it. I guess I'll record and watch it.
Finally watched this on my dvr last night. Interesting enough to watch again. One MAJOR problem I had. How did that hispanic/black? girl who ran through the jungle and got attacked by slashers survive? She just kept walking? I don't get it. That one slasher jumped out of the jungle at her as she was running and then the good guys find her and she looks like she got raped or something, not attacked by a man eating dinosaur. Made ZERO sense.
Yeah that was pretty silly, along with kid with the curly hair getting slashed but suffering a flesh wound.
And the other kid getting dragged out of the car by the slasher and it just sitting their gnawing on his ankle. I mean really? These dinos don't seem so bad. They attack a bunch of teenie boppers and one walks away with her clothes torn up with a vague "needs surgery" diagnosis from the doctor, one just gets a cut on his chest and the other gets his ankle gnawed on but doesn't even lose consciousness? Kids are lucky they didn't run into a honeybadger. They might have been REALLY messed up.
I liked the pilot.. it wasn't bad. I think if they don't overdo it then it can become something big. It definitely has a nice story to it though so far.
Overall I liked it to and will watch the whole season unless it gets really stupid. I didn't like the way the chick at the end dropped a Heroes type one liner. "Control the past. Control the future." (read like Save the cheerleader. Save the world.)
This. I just couldn't get excited about it because the characters were so boring. I couldn't root for any of them. You can't tell who's a good guy and who's a bad guy. Everyone seems so cookie-cutter, so cliche. Teenage boy rebelling against his absentee dad, gets into trouble. Oh golly, what an original concept! Teenage sister runs into cute, interesting looking boy. INTRIGUE! It seemed like a B-movie/typical slasher flick with an excessive CGI budget being forced into a primetime TV format. I'll give it one more episode, but if I don't find something to interest me soon I'm ditching it.
I have not seen it yet but . . .I wonder are we too hard on shows? I would like to give them at least 3~5 episodes I mean . .the quick hook killed Firefly Rocket River
