It's the second round of the All NBA Draft Part 2! For this draft we used a $75 million hard cap. Production estimates for each player are based on their 2010-2011 seasons. All players are considered to be healthy, but age, accumulation of injuries, or serious injuries are accounted for. So, for example, Greg Oden is to be considered healthy but his injury history is to be respected.*

This matchup pits AFS against Jeff Who.

    AFS
PG- Deron Williams/Goran Dragic/ Johnny Flynn
    SG- James Harden/Tracy Mcgrady
    SF- Grant Hill/Hedo Turkglu
    PF- Pau Gasol/ Ed Davis
    C- Hilario Nene/Omer Asik/Kwame Brown

    vs.

    Jeff Who
PG - Brandon Jennings / Baron Davis
SG - Richard Hamilton / Landry Fields
SF - Kevin Durant / Shane Battier
PF - Al Jefferson / Tyrus Thomas / Udonis Haslem
    C - DeMarcus Cousins / Jermaine O'Neal / Robin Lopez

I like AFS's bench better and his team is clearly better at 3/5 positions. The advantage of Durant over Grant Hill is balanced by Deron Williams over Brandon Jennings.

AFS has the better frontcourt, IMO.

Wow, seems like a dead even matchup to me. Let's see.

    Jennings vs. Williams
Sure Deron has an adventage here but people forget how good Jennings was in his rookie year and that he is still developing into a young star. Injuries have slowed him down a bit but he seems to be healthly now, and the whole between those two players may not be as big as people think it is.

    Harden vs. Hamilton
I belive this is an even matchup. Harden is a young promising scorer who can handle the ball while Rip is a proven scorer who in my opinion fits KD and Jennings very well because he plays off the ball. I'd say this matchup is even, no adventages either way.

    Durant vs. Hill
As much as I like Hill and his reputation on being a good defender I don't think at the age of 38 or whatever it is he is able to stay with young, long and athletic Durant who can score all over the floor. On the other end he doesn't give you much offense either.

    Jefferson vs. Gasol
Gasol is a pure talent but I guess we can say now that he is mentally WEAK which sometimes makes his talent useless. I actually like Al's chances against Pau because he is the underdog. Remember, Jefferson is a tough 4 who can really score and rebound. I think this may frustrate Pau a little bit which will make him dissapear on offense.

    Nene vs. Cousins
Just like the matchup between Rip and Harden you have a veteran big man who can really play versus a young center who can become an allstar in the NBA. The only problem I have with DeMarcus is his behaviour but I belive he will be fine, well at least hope so. And clearly, Nene is not MUCH BETTER that DeMarcus.

There is no way in hell that Pau Gasol and Al Jefferson is anything close to a wash.

Defensively he is and offensively he is too.

Jefferson is as good at scoring out of the post btu doesn't have the passing/playmaking and offensive rebounding.

And defensively it isn't even close.

Pau was the frontrunner for MVP for 2 months of the season

yes he was and then when his team needed him he completly dissapeared and was the main reason the Lakers got swept. And where was his 'defense' when Dirk was lighting him up?

Yeah, Jason Kidd sucks defensively because of what Wade did to him.

Ray Allen and Paul Pierce suck because of what Lebron did to them.

One bad playoff series erases two championships where he was one of hte main reasons the Lakers won (if not the main reason)?

And Gasol had 3 straight finals appearances and had to play ridiculous minutes early in the season with Bynum out.

Kobe had pretty bad playoffs too but no one seems to mind.

    Fatigue is real.

When his team needed him, he won them 2 championships. And it's unfair to mention his inability to guard Dirk. No one was able to successfully do it.

As far as the Durant vs. Hill matchup, Hill has already proved this past year that he can stay with Durant. Durant averaged 46% shooting for the season, but in his 4 games against Phoenix with Hill guarding him a majority of the time, Durant only managed to shoot for 40%.

And as far as Nene vs. Cousins, Nene right now is a top-5 center in the NBA. Cousins isn't even close. Cousins shot 43% for the season, which is terrible for a big. Nene was highest percentage FG shooter in the league at 61%. I don't think Cousins would be able to guard Nene, and between that and Cousins doing stupid things on the court, Nene is gonna have his way with Cousins.

Jefferson is also terrible on the defensive end. The Jazz this year gave up 112 points per 100 possessions, compared to the 101.3 points per 100 possessions they gave up without him on the floor. I think Pau is gonna be the one doing the frustrating here.

So Jonny Flynn is the backup PG for AFS?

If he loses, that's why. He has an awful bench.

The starters are much more balanced than Jeff's, though.

Backup PG is Tracy McGrady. Backup Shooting guard should be Nick Young. Jonny Flynn is gonna barely get any minutes.
