Colts haven't had a team-changing draft in ages. They have lots of holes to fill whether or not Peyton comes back. And if they do get Luck, and it will take a lot more losing to get that record, he will inherit a team with a bunch of sophomores on the OL, Addai/Carter as his run game, and a defense who historically could not stop the run. Last night and Pat Angerer notwithstanding.
Wild card can come out of anywhere with a run game. The Raiders and Bills are probably the dark horse of a lot of people now. Flacco or Sanchez aren't locks because they are, well, Flacco and Sanchez.
The Steelers game will be this season's defining moment. If the Texans win, I like their changes, if they lose, "same ole Texans." Beware of the "slide" into obscurity; we all know that they can do it. They are yet to really prove themselves, a win Sunday will do it.
I would rather play the steelers, take them out and hope that the Jets take out the patriots on our way to the AFC championship. In the NFC, some team that had no business making the playoffs and another team that got in because of tie breakers, will eliminate the "elite" in the packers and saints. It always happens. Lions Vs Texans in the superbowl. in a low scoring game, the lions pull it off 55-52.
You really want to wish that for a young, 23 year old athlete who was just starting to make a name for himself and establish him as a good receiver? That's not right at all. How about he recovers fully then leaves the Titans and goes to an NFC team? You never want to end a kids career especially when he just turned 23 a couple of days ago.
Whoah, whoah, whoah........ It's a big game. Huge. I want to see them bounce back and play well, make a statement. But........ it's the 4th game of the year and would be their first AFC loss. A loss isn't THAT big a deal. No one should jump off the stadium if they're 2-2 after 4 with just one AFC loss. They'll be OK. Heck, I came into the season bracing for 4-4 at the break. Get your footing defensively and get/stay healthy offensively these first 8 and then feast on a much easier second-half schedule. No reason they can't go 6-2 down the stretch. Bonus if they make it to the halfway point 5-3.
I don't want either forced into retirement. I want the Texans to beat the *best*. Our AFC South "crown" will still count, but wouldn't it have been sweeter with two W's over Peyton Manning?
I somewhat agree. I like the idea of getting the division gifted to them this season, but next season (after a full year plus OTA's and training camp with Wade) I'd like to see them sweep the Colts with a healthy Manning.
I don't recall any feel good losses in football, it just pained me and hurt worse that we had a good chance until the late 4th defensive fail...Realistically most of us predicted the loss to NOLA...I mean even a awesome 12-4 record means three more bad weekend games, but we were close... I know the coaches revisted the issues, and you learn from this so we shall see. Foster is missed a lot for his punch in ability...gotta get him back 100% soon!
I think the chances are increasingly likely that it will be the Buffalo Bills we will face in Round 1.
Anything, I mean ANYTHING when it comes to futility is possible when you have this guy at the helm...
I understand what you are saying. Largely, I think you are right. But, psychologically both for the players and the fans, Sunday against the Steelers is huge.
I don't. Cause having the division 'gifted' to us means At least 3 more years of Kubiak If not 6 Wade will lift the Texans from no playoffs to 1st round fodder . . . for the next few years As someone will say . it will be fool's gold Rocket River
Seriously. This team has proven nothing...nothing...in their franchise history....except how to lose and lose brilliantly. If the division was gift wrapped for us, the Texans would get a paper cut trying to open it. So I would rather take it a game at a time. Gotta beat the Steelers at home.
I agree with this man. We lose on Sunday, and the media starts to write tons of articles on how we're a tease again. That can have either a good or bad effect on this team. So far, in our history, it's had a bad one. I'm not saying we'll live or die by the game on Sunday, but boy would it help things if we won.
I think that has zero relevance. You could argue a win would lead to scores of "They've finally arrived!" articles, and that they'd be just as hurtful. It'd be nice to avoid a losing streak; it'd be nice to see them bounce back and play well, answer the bell; and it'd be nice to gobble up another win in the AFC, especially against a possible playoff contender. But a loss doesn't kill 'em. Lose these next three, though..........
I don't care how we get to the playoffs as long as we win one game when we get there. Ask the Falcon or Chief fans last year if they made the playoffs. They will collectively tell you NO. In the standings they did , but it felt otherwise. You get one game and its a blowout...before you know it the game is over with at halftime. For those asking to play the Jets in the playoffs , your wishing death upon yourself! I rather play, the Raiders, Bills, or Steelers, Ravens, or Jets. In that order.
