Spoiler It was awesome to see Bill Burr and Lavell Crawford off Ted on accident. Had me laughing. Man oh man. S*** is getting all messed up. Last scene reminded me of Goodfellas, except Walt started laughing. The ending gave me crazy chills.
this show has vaulted into the #1 spot on my best shows of all time list. i can't believe there are still 2 episodes left this season - they could have easily ended the season on either of the last 2. it seems like the last 2 this season, and every single eipisode of the final season next year will be unbelievably intense. what a f'ing show.
Gus' henchman, the one who shadows Walt should, be doing Nivea skin cream commercials. Who the hell buys a Pontiac Aztek? Mike !
what happened to devious, one step ahead of his enemies Walt? where did the blubbering idiot come from? Even the low level henchman is smarter.
The fact that Walt knew Gus needed him alive for Jesse to cook for Gus shows that Walt knows what is going on. Crazy ending, gave me chills, too. Seeing Walt beg Jesse for help and lose it at the end was the first sign of him losing control.
yeah, it's not so much that walt doesn't know what's going on, it's that he can't do anything about it...yet.
the end of this reminded me of the end of the dark knight. walt as the joker, laughing to his death. was there some foreshadowing w/ the conversation b/t walt and hank where hank says "if you have some problem you dont think you can handle dont you think i am THE guy you can come to for help".
I am not caught up, so this will be my only post in this thread until I am, but I just finished watching the first 3 seasons (in just 10 days), and needed to express how great this show is. Looking forward to starting season 4 tonight and catching up by the end of the week.
Ever since Gus offed that dude in episode 1, Walt has been a step or five behind in processing everything. I think he sort of developed this fear of mortality too. He acts all badass in front of Skylar and strangers (at the doc's office), but he gets beat up by Mike, pisses his pants when Hank asks him to plant the bug at the Pollo Express (or whatever it's called). I think losing the money has sort of liberated Walt and hopefully is the catalyst to making go into fearless, methodical, badass Walt again. Gus has been running circles around Walt all season, and even though Walt is at a disadvantage because of his liabilities (family), Walt must step his game.
Jesus, what an episode. I was shivering the last five minutes, the tension was so amazing. I have no idea what comes next, but I have to believe (what others have said) that with no good options left and coming seemingly unhinged, Walt has no choice but to go full-on Heisenberg now. With Mike sidelined momentarily, I'm guessing Tyrus will be the next person to see what evil-and-murderous Walt is truly capable of. Maybe that's when we'll see that gun Walt bought come to use. As for Gus--my god, he is truly the Emperor Palpatine of drug lords. I fear for Hank and the rest of Walt's family, and can only wonder what Walt can do to try to stop him. One last thought: Huell is probably my favorite character of the season. When Bill Burr's character asked him, "Huell, you happy?" "...Reasonably." my laughter probably woke up the neighbors. Hilarious stuff even in the presence of so many dark moments. I only came around to this show a few months ago, but man am I glad I did. This is television at its absolute finest.
the timeline for this show is crazy. One month ago, Gus didn't even want to talk to Jesse and very much wanted him dead. A month later, Jesse is like his second in command. huh.
poor Gus...he forgot one of his main rules: NEVER TRUST A JUNKIE + Jesse hearts Walt = plucked chickenman
Remember when we were all b****ing about how slowly this season started out? What a run it's been on the past 3-4 episodes. Last night was just flat out awesome. I loved the way it started with the medical lab in the warehouse. I thought about how prepared Gus was for this assault on the cartel, which was only heightened when Jesse saw all the blood set aside for Gus, Mike, and himself. It's great to see Jesse shine. From being bumped up to chief cook and having Gus respect him, and also playing Wii with his girlfriend and her kid. What a difference 10 episodes makes. At the beginning of the season, he let junkies throw a 24 hour rave at his house and trash it. Now he has pseudo family bonding time. I'm ecstatic that the Ted factor is gone. It looks like he's dead, but at least we don't have to deal with the Skyler\Ted plotline anymore. I'm assuming the writers set this up to have the cash shortfall at the end. Walt has been a pain in the ass annoying character this season. He's about as far from Heisenberg as you can get, always making panicked moves to somehow get the upper hand on Gus. He made a rash move crashing the car when Hank wanted to investigate the laundry facility. That took him out of the meth production for four days, while there was no hiccup in production. I was glad to see him beg Jesse for help, only to have Jesse tell him to **** off. Only at the end did Walt realize that Jesse had protected his life. Being offered his life and the ability to walk away, season four prideful Walt couldn't resist popping off at Gus. "What will you do? You can't kill me if you want Jesse to cook for you." Then Gus played the ultimate card with probably the most chilling lines of the entire series. "I will kill your wife. I will kill your son. I will kill your infant daughter." if you try to interfere with me killing Hank. Walt had never had his family in danger this whole series. To see them threatened, he swallowed his pride and pulled the eject button only to see the money gone and that avenue blocked. That excellently shot scene at the end of him laughing and looking like he was in a grave was the moment Walt hit rock bottom. This is the moment we've been waiting for. Walt almost has no choice but to throw everything to the wind and become Heisenberg. Use his intelligence and mastery of chemistry to somehow take down Gus. Hard to believe after that thrilling episode we still have two left before the end of this season and another 16 next year. A few other notes on this episode: Tyrus is becoming a damn menacing enforcer. Mike is a suave and lethal operator. Tyrus seems like a cold-blooded mercenary who will rise from the shadows and kill with that mocking smirk of his. I thought I would relish seeing Hector being told of Eladio's death, but he was a very sympathetic character and expressed such hatred and pain with a very small palate of facial expressions. I think Mike is a wild card here. The doctors basically let him bleed and possibly die while they cared for Gus. Then he was left behind and seemingly replaced by Tyrus. Is he on the outs with Gus or looking to be? I think Walt might have a possibly ally here when he guns for Gus. Always a pleasure to see Saul.
Anyone think Hector has one more play left in him? Seems unlikely, but I have no idea how Walt's family is going to get out of this season alive.
I'm assuming that they'll go stay with Hank and Marie. The DEA is putting Hank under protection so that would be the safest place to be while Walt goes all Heisenburg on Gus's ass.
